Cade Povich fans five in loss to Guardians
Cade Povich was charged with three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Guardians.
Advice: Povich predictably couldn’t solve Guardians superstar José Ramírez, who tagged him for a run-scoring single in the opening frame, in addition to a go-ahead solo shot in the sixth inning, which was enough to saddle him with the loss in a low-scoring affair at Camden Yards. He struck out five and only issued one walk. The 24-year-old rookie southpaw has absolutely held his own so far in his first taste of the majors with a respectable 4.15 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 14/10 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings (four starts) for Baltimore. He’ll lock horns with the defending World Series champion Rangers on Saturday in his next outing. He’s not exactly a recommended option for fantasy managers in shallow mixed leagues, but he’s definitely worth monitoring over the next few months.
