    • Tyler Rogers gets first save of 2024 vs. Pirates
Tyler Rogers hurled a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: That’s the first save for Rogers, and with Camilo Doval locked into the closing role, it’s very likely his last for a while. The 33-year-old has a 2.22 ERA, eight holds and a 0.97 WHIP over his 26 appearances for the Giants in 2024. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago
    • Slated for bulk relief
Alexander is in line to serve as a bulk reliever in Friday's game versus the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Alexander carried a perfect game into the eighth inning of his last outing in Toronto as a traditional starter, but he's slated to follow opener Shawn Armstrong on Friday. The left-hander holds a 5.06 ERA in six traditional starts and a 5.40 ERA in bulk relief this season. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
    • Will be opener Friday
Armstrong will serve as an opener for Friday's game against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The right-hander will be first into the game before handing things off to Tyler Alexander, who is slated to handle the bulk of the innings. It will be the fourth opener assignment this season for Armstrong, who has allowed four runs (three earned) with an 8:2 K:BB over four innings in the first three outings. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
    • Tyler Alexander will be bulk reliever on Friday
Tyler Alexander will serve as a bulk reliever on Friday against the Royals.

Advice: Shawn Armstrong will start the game but then Alexander will take over for bulk work. It’s not a bad change for Alexander since coming in as the bulk reliever doesn’t require him to pitch five innings in order to qualify for the win. It’s a role we saw Ryan Yarbrough thrive in with the Rays in the past and makes Alexander an intriguing streamer in deeper formats. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
    • Tigers call up Mason Englert
Tigers recalled RHP Mason Englert from Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: Englert will take Alex Lange’s spot in the bullpen. The 24-year-old has been solid in Triple-A with a 2.35 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 23 innings while striking out 34 and walking nine. He has not yet been able to carry that success over to the major-league level but perhaps now is the time. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago
    • Recalled from Triple-A
The Tigers recalled Englert from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Englert has put up a 2.35 ERA and 34:9 K:BB over 23 innings with Toledo this season. The 24-year-old collected a 5.46 ERA across 31 appearances for the Tigers last season. He should operate in low-leverage situations. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago
    • Mets claim Ty Adcock on waivers
Mets claimed RHP Ty Adcock on waivers from the Tigers; optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Adcock had struggled this year with a 9.00 ERA in six innings for the Tigers in Triple-A while striking out nine and walking six. He had also struggled in two innings at Triple-A for the Mariners and was waived in April. However, the 27-year-old was solid as a rookie in 2023, pitching to a 3.45 ERA across 12 appearances, so the Mets will hope to recapture some of that. Rotoworld Today, 11:29 am

    • Claimed by Mets
The Mets claimed Adcock off waivers from Detroit on Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Adcock was DFA'd by the Tigers on Saturday, but he will reclaim a spot on a 40-man roster as he moves to New York. The 27-year-old righty has allowed eight earned runs across 8.1 innings between the Mariners' and Tigers' Triple-A affiliates, and a significant turnaround would likely be necessary before Adcock receives a call up to the majors. • Returns to action at Triple-A
Bido (finger) started Saturday for Triple-A Las Vegas in the club's 11-3 loss to El Paso, covering four innings and striking out three while allowing four earned runs on five hits and two walks.

Advice: After being called up from Las Vegas on May 8, Bido started the second game of the Athletics' doubleheader with the Rangers that day but exited midway through the third inning after developing a blister on his pitching hand. He was returned to Las Vegas two days later, but he didn't start last week while he was given more time to heal up from the finger issue. Ostensibly healthy again, Bido should continue to make regular turns out of the Las Vegas rotation but will be near the top of the list for a call-up if the Athletics should require a spot starter again.
