    • Another three hits, three RBI
Miranda went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks while also drawing a walk.

Advice: Miranda kicked off the scoring for Minnesota with a three-run double in the second and went on to reach base four times in the contest -- which he's now done twice in his last three games. It marked the third time that the third baseman has driven in three runs and logged multiple hits over his last five contests, increasing his average to .329 in June. Miranda has also drawn a walk in four straight games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:41 am

    • Gets another turn at 3B
Espinal started at third base and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to Pittsburgh.

Advice: Espinal started at third base for the seventh time in the last eight games, as Jeimer Candelario's knee and hamstring issues are impacting his usage. Candelario, who sat out Wednesday, has been used at first base or DH in four of his last five games. Espinal is 5-for-25 with a walk, a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored over his last seven games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:23 am

    • Lands on IL with back strain
The Brewers recalled Dunn from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday and placed him on the 10-day injured list with a back strain.

Advice: Dunn was optioned to Nashville last week, but it turns out that he had been dealing with a back injury so he will go on the IL instead. It's not clear how long he might be sidelined, but the infielder could be optioned again once he's healthy. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:22 am

    • Jose Miranda drives in three in win vs. D-Backs
Jose Miranda went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run scored in the Twins’ 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: With the bases loaded in the second inning, Miranda put the Twins on top with a bases-clearing double off of Ryne Nelson to bring in three runs. He knocked a base hit in the third, then doubled once again in the fifth before scoring on a home run by Willi Castro. Miranda walked in the ninth to reach for the fourth time. The 25-year-old third baseman is slashing .293/.339/.495 with eight homers and 33 RBI across 224 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:24 pm

    • Mulling rehab assignment
Rendon (hamstring) said Wednesday that he's "definitely close" and is still deciding whether to go out on a rehab assignment, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: A rehab assignment would be sensible, considering he's missed two months of action with a high-grade partial tear of his left hamstring. Rendon said that he's open to the possibility of playing rehab games before coming off the 60-day injured list, though the Angels can't force him to do so. Either way, the veteran third baseman should be clear to play in games soon if he's able to sprint on consecutive days without issue. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:13 am

    • Anthony Rendon (hamstring) close to game-ready
Anthony Rendon thinks he’s close to returning from a partially torn left hamstring.

Advice: Fortunately, Rendon is open to going on a rehab assignment, though he doesn’t seem to think he really needs one. Considering that he’s missed more than two months and was hardly tearing it up before getting hurt (.267/.325/.307 in 19 games), it would be for the best if he spent a few days in the minors. • Anthony Rendon (hamstring) set to resume hitting
Anthony Rendon (hamstring) will get live at-bats later this week.

Advice: Angels manager Ron Washington told reporters Rendon is making progress and should be able to resume live at-bats later this week. He’s been out since late April recovering from a partially-torn hamstring and appears to be inching closer to a rehab assignment. Rotoworld Tuesday, 4:07 pm

    • Progressing toward live swings
Rendon (hamstring) is expected to start facing live pitching by this weekend, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: The veteran third baseman started up baseball activities in early June and is nearing full baseball activities as he continues to work his way back from a strained left hamstring. Rendon will likely require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining the Angels, so a return shouldn't be expected in the immediate future. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 4:07 pm

    • Getting Tuesday off
Flores isn't in the Giants' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Flores will take a seat Tuesday after going 0-for-4 with an RBI and a walk during Monday's victory. David Villar will take over at first base and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:39 pm
