    • Smith belts sixth home run in win Saturday
Josh Smith went 2-for-3 with a solo home run against the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Smith’s home run was his sixth of the year. He’s 15-for-37 (.405) with three home runs, eight RBI and a stolen base in his last 13 games. Smith has stood out on the Rangers offense and found his way to the No. 3 spot in the lineup. Given Texas’ other options, they’ll continue to find playing time for him as long as he’s producing like this. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:46 pm

    • Getting Saturday off
Bader isn't in the Mets' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Bader will sit down versus Jameson Taillon and the Cubs after going 0-for-9 and striking out four times in his last three games. While he rests, DJ Stewart, Brandon Nimmo and Starling Marte will start across New York's outfield. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:27 am
    • Absent from lineup
Horwitz is not in the lineup for Friday's contest in Cleveland.

Advice: After starting five straight games following his promotion, Horwitz has now been on the bench three times in the last seven contests, including twice against right-handers. Orelvis Martinez is getting the call at second base Friday. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:43 pm
    • Spencer Horwitz not in Blue Jays lineup on Friday
Spencer Horwitz is not in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s contest against the Guardians in Cleveland.

Advice: The versatile 26-year-old has found his way into the lineup against most opposing right-handed pitchers, but that’s not the case against Carlos Carrasco on Friday night. Horwitz has hit well in his limited time with the Jays — slashing .353/.450/.412 with three RBI and a 5/6 K/BB ratio over his first 40 plate appearances. Orelvis Martinez will start in his place at second base and bat eighth for the Jays. Rotoworld Friday, 1:27 pm
    • Idle against southpaw
Raley is out of the lineup Friday against the Marlins

Advice: Raley will take a seat with the Marlins starting lefty Trevor Rogers. Victor Robles will bat eighth and man left field. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:26 pm

    • Set to return Sunday
Rockies manager Bud Black said Thursday that Freeland (elbow) will return from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday versus the Nationals, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Advice: Freeland allowed two earned runs while striking out four over four innings in his third and final rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque. The left-hander threw 67 pitches in the outing, so he probably won't be ready for a full workload Sunday. Most fantasy managers shouldn't be using Freeland, anyway. He posted a 13.21 ERA in four starts before going on the injured list in mid-April with a left elbow strain. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:07 am
    • Resuming rehab assignment Friday
Thomas (hamstring) is scheduled to resume his rehab assignment Friday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: After going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the third game of his current rehab assignment in the ACL on Monday, Thomas reported what Arizona manager Torey Lovullo termed as "general soreness." Fortunately for Thomas, he looks to have avoided a setback, and he'll be back in action Friday with the soreness having subsided. Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona adds that Thomas is also scheduled to play in an ACL game Saturday, and if all goes well, the outfielder could shift his rehab assignment to a higher-level affiliate next week. Thomas has been on the shelf since April 1 with a strained left hamstring and was pulled off his initial rehab assignment in early May after he experienced renewed discomfort. • Reaches 67 pitches in rehab start
Freeland (elbow) struck out four over four innings in his third rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque, giving up two earned runs on two hits and four walks.

Advice: Freeland tossed four innings of one-run ball in his first rehab outing with Albuquerque on June 13, but he wasn't quite as sharp in his second turn through the Triple-A rotation, spotting 42 of his 67 pitches for strikes while walking four of the 18 batters he faced. Though Freeland looks to be stretched out to close to a traditional starter's workload, the Rockies may want the left-hander to raise his pitch count a bit more and show improved control in one more outing with Albuquerque before bringing him back from the 60-day injured list. The Rockies already seem to be ruling out Freeland for a return this weekend; the team is listing Dakota Hudson, Cal Quantrill and Austin Gomber as its starters for the series with the Nationals that runs Friday through Sunday, according to Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com. • Sitting against lefty
Raley is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: With lefty Logan Allen on the hill for Cleveland, Raley and fellow left-handed-hitting regulars Dominic Canzone and Josh Rojas will retreat to the bench. Victor Robles will step in for Raley as the Mariners' starting left fielder. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:55 am
