    • Coughs up five runs
Falter (3-6) yielded five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk over four innings Monday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Reds.

Advice: Falter kept Cincinnati off the board for three innings before giving up five runs in the fourth. It was the third time in his last four outings that he was pulled after just four frames. During that span, he's produced an ugly 6.63 ERA, raising his season mark to 4.00 through 83.1 frames. Falter has lost each of his four starts this month and hasn't won since May 24. His next start is currently projected to be at home against the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Today, 8:18 pm

    • Paxton tosses five scoreless in no-decision Monday
James Paxton allowed no runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Dodgers’ 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton gave up three hits, walked three and struck out six. He had won his last two starts, but the Dodgers couldn’t score any runs to support him. It was still a good effort from Paxton, who lowered his ERA to 3.39 in the process. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants on the road this weekend.

    • Munoz gives up three home runs once again
Roddery Munoz allowed four runs in six innings and took the loss against the Royals on Monday.

Advice: Munoz gave up six hits, walked four and struck out four. It was another rough game for Munoz, who allowed six earned runs in his last start as well as three home runs. He only allowed four runs against the Royals, but gave up another three home runs as well as a double by Bobby Witt Jr. He now has a 5.80 ERA and is off the fantasy radar. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Phillies on the road this weekend.

    • Bailey Falter gives up five runs in loss to Reds
Bailey Falter was lit up for five runs (four earned) over four innings on Monday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Falter didn’t fare as well this time out in a rematch against the Reds after limiting Cincinnati to just a pair of runs over seven frames last week. He was tagged for five hits and needed 79 pitches (57 strikes) to complete four frames. He finished with two strikeouts and only issued one walk. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh’s bullpen didn’t help matters as they were lit up for six runs over the final five innings, which was enough to ensure he got stuck with another loss. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.00 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 54/22 K/BB ratio across 83 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a tough road matchup on Sunday against the Braves. Rotoworld Today, 7:17 pm

    • So-so in loss
Povich (0-2) took the loss Monday against Cleveland, yielding three earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Povich allowed four extra-base hits on the night including a solo home run to Jose Ramirez in the sixth inning. Since a brutal MLB debut on June 6 where he allowed six earned runs, the 24-year-old rookie has pitched to a 2.20 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in 16.1 innings over his past three starts. It remains to be seen if Povich will hold onto his rotation spot when Dean Kremer (triceps) returns from the IL. With Kremer likely to be activated in early July, Povich should make at least one more start, currently scheduled for this weekend against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Today, 7:14 pm

    • Schwellenbach strikes out six in loss Monday
Spencer Schwellenbach allowed for runs in five innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Schwellenbach gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out six. It wasn’t a terrible start considering it was the fifth start of his major league career. All four runs against Schwellenbach came in the fourth inning and the only extra-base hit he allowed was an RBI double to Alec Burleson. Schwellenbach has allowed only two home runs in his five starts. His ERA is 5.40, but his xFIP is much lower at 3.69, which shows that the positives outweigh the negatives so far. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home this weekend.

    • Lynn gets third win against Braves Monday
Lance Lynn allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings and got the win in the Cardinals’ 4-3 victory over the Braves on Monday.

Advice: Lynn gave up four hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was Lynn’s third of the year. It was his first quality start since May 27th. Lynn lowered his ERA to 3.86 and he has a 4.02 xFIP on the season. His 5.73 ERA from last year appears to be an outlier. Lynn is close to getting a strikeout per inning, but he’s only completed six innings in four of his 16 starts this year. The 37-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds at home this weekend.

    • Casey Mize strikes out 10 in loss to Phillies
Casey Mize posted a season-high 10 strikeouts and was charged with four runs (three earned) over 4 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: The final line doesn’t totally reflect it, especially since he coughed up four runs in a calamitous opening frame, but there were a bunch of positive takeaways here for Mize in this outing as he generated an eye-popping 19 swinging strikes and didn’t hand out a free pass. Unfortunately, he needed a whopping 101 pitches (66 strikes) to work into the fifth inning. Despite all of the whiffs, he was tagged for a season-high nine hits, including a two-run homer by Alec Bohm in the opening frame. The surface stats remain a bit inflated, but the strikeouts are starting to show up for the 27-year-old former top prospect lately. He’ll bring an underwhelming 4.54 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 56/19 K/BB ratio across 73 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a favorable road matchup on Saturday against the Angels. Rotoworld Today, 6:55 pm

    • Fans 10 in loss
Mize (1-6) took the loss Monday against the Phillies, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits and zero walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: Mize got roughed up in the opening frame, allowing a two-run double to Bryce Harper before surrendering an Alec Bohm home run the very next at-bat. The 27-year-old found his groove after the first inning, not allowing another run while logging a season-best 10 strikeouts. The strikeouts are likely an outlier as Mize had not registered more than six punchouts in any start this season. Despite his ugly 1-6 record, the right-hander has pitched better as of late -- Monday marked his sixth-consecutive start allowing three earned runs or less. He is tentatively scheduled for a road start against the Angels this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 6:39 pm
