    Advice: Lowe has been slow to reacclimate at the plate following his IL stint in late May, entering Tuesday's game 2-for-24 with 12 strikeouts since being activated June 5.   • Walker Buehler (ineffective) could land on IL
    The Dodgers are considering stashing Walker Buehler on the injured list after his poor performance at Coors Field against the Rockies on Tuesday.

    Advice: It appears this was being discussed even before Buehler gave up seven runs to Colorado, and now the Dodgers have a perfect excuse after Buehler was hit in the hip by a comebacker tonight. Buehler has a 5.84 ERA in eight starts since returning from Tommy John surgery, and the Dodgers are about to get Bobby Miller back from the IL, though he’ll be going into Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s slot.   • Dominant in fifth straight win
    Lodolo (8-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Pirates, allowing a run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out eight.

    Advice: A Ke'Bryan Hayes homer in the seventh inning was the lone mark against Lodolo on Tuesday as he earned his fifth straight win -- the left-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start during that span. Overall, Lodolo's ERA is down to 2.76 on the year with a 1.01 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB across 65.1 innings.   • Surrenders seven runs
    Buehler allowed seven runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

    Advice: Buehler has struggled at times this season since he returned from Tommy John surgery, and a trip to Coors Field did him no favors for getting on track. He's struck out three or fewer batters in each of his last three starts, and this was the third time this season he's given up multiple home runs in an outing. Buehler is at a 5.84 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB with 10 homers allowed over 37 innings across eight starts. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox, though Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports that Buehler took a comebacker off the hip in Tuesday's game, which has generated some concern from manager Dave Roberts. Roberts added that Buehler may require a stint on the injured list, stretching thin a rotation that's also missing Yoshinobu Yamamoto (shoulder), though Bobby Miller (shoulder) will be back Wednesday.     Advice: Sigh. Buehler’s velocity tonight was his worst since his rejoined the roster, and he got just three missed swings in his 70 pitches. That he was hit in the hip by a comebacker might have played some role in his struggles. We wouldn’t go dropping Buehler, who is still in a terrific situation with the Dodgers, but his early results in his first six weeks back from Tommy John definitely haven’t been as encouraging as hoped.   • Short outing vs. Mariners
    McKenzie (3-4) took the loss Tuesday against Seattle, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks over 2.1 innings without recording a strikeout.

    Advice: After holding the Mariners scoreless through his first two innings, McKenzie allowed five of the first six batters to reach safely in the third, ultimately surrendering four runs before the Guardians turned to the bullpen. The 26-year-old McKenzie has struggled of late -- he hasn't made it through six innings in five straight starts, posting a 7.04 ERA in that span. Overall, his ERA is up to 4.48 on the season with a 1.46 WHIP and 65:42 K:BB across 70.1 innings.   • Framber Valdez surrenders two runs in loss
    Framber Valdez pitched six innings of two-run ball Tuesday in a loss to the White Sox.

    Advice: Valdez allowed just two hits, but he walked five batters, which fueled the rallies in the third and fifth innings. Valdez worked out of big jams to limit the White Sox to single runs both innings, but the Astros offense did nothing to back him tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:04 pm
     
  • Struggles with control in loss
    Valdez (5-5) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: The Houston southpaw toiled against a weak White Sox team that entered the evening collectively batting .220 with a 7.1 percent walk rate -- both qualifying as the second-worst marks in the majors. The five walks Valdez issued were the most since his first start this season against the Yankees on March 28, when he issued six free passes. The 30-year-old now sports a 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB over 73.2 innings. Valdez faces a difficult test in his next scheduled outing, slated to come against Baltimore at home this weekend.   • McKenzie can’t escape third inning in loss
    Triston McKenzie allowed four runs on three hits in 2 1/3 while walking four and striking out nobody in a loss to the Mariners.

    Advice: This is now the fifth straight subpar start for McKenzie, who had an uptick in velocity tonight but saw no benefit from it. We know he’s pitching through an injury, and he’s just clearly not healthy when he’s out there on the mound right now. He didn’t throw a single slider in the strike zone tonight and had just a 40 percent zone rate overall. With Gavin Williams on the way back, you have to wonder if McKenzie might be in jeopardy of losing his spot in the rotation. He’ll take a 4.48 ERA into an okay matchup against the Blue Jays this weekend, but he’s simply tough to trust right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:20 pm
