      Conforto went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Conforto jumped on a hanging four-seamer from Peter Lambert to lead off the second inning and crushed it over the wall in right field to open a six-run rally for San Francisco. The outfielder would later add a single in the same frame before finishing the contest with his third three-hit performance of the season. Conforto has now hit safely in four of his last five games, while the home run was his first since April 22.       Duran earned the save in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out one.

      Advice: Duran entered the game with a 6-3 lead in the top of the ninth and needed nine pitches to record the first out. The right-handed reliever then managed to work his way back from a 3-0 count to retire Jorge Polanco on strikes for the final out of the game. It marked Duran's third save of the season, and he's now pitched a perfect inning in back-to-back appearances. He's also yet to walk a batter or allow a run across five innings.       Michael Conforto went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and a walk on Wednesday in an 8-6 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Conforto put the Giants on the board with a solo homer off Peter Lambert to lead off the second inning. It was the start of a six-run inning as the Giants hit around the order. Conforto added a base hit later in the same inning, then drew a walk and scored in the seventh.       Jhoan Duran struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Mariners on Wednesday.

      Advice: After a pair of eighth-inning appearances, Duran got back to closing duties against the Mariners on Wednesday.       Connor Wong went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday’s loss to the Braves.

      Advice: Wong continues to hit. He’s up to .354 on the season with a .964 OPS. While Wong is a career .249 hitter, he’s cut his career strikeout rate from 31 percent to 21 percent this year. If he keeps that up, there’s certainly reason to believe he can be an asset in batting average for the rest of the season.

      Astros manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that Pressly is managing lower-back soreness but that it's "nothing worrisome right now," Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

      Advice: The 35-year-old hasn't pitched since Friday due to the injury, and it's unclear if he'll be available for Wednesday's matchup with the Yankees.       Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Wednesday that Ryan Pressly hasn’t pitched since Friday due to soreness in his lower back.

      Advice: The 35-year-old hurler was able to play catch on Wednesday and felt alright afterwards, so the Astros remain optimistic that he won’t require a trip to the injured list.     • Pirates will promote Paul Skenes to start Saturday
      The Pirates announced Wednesday that top pitching prospect Paul Skenes will be promoted from Triple-A Indianapolis to make his major league debut Saturday against the Cubs.

      Advice: The 21-year-old fireballer was making a mockery of the hitting at Triple-A with Indianapolis, registering a 0.99 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and a ludicrous 45/8 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings of work in his seven starts. The Pirates are going to limit his innings this season, which will curtail some of his upside in the wins department, but he’s going to be an immediate impact contributor in all fantasy leagues and needs to be rostered everywhere at this point.     • Making MLB debut Saturday
      The Pirates announced that Skenes will be promoted from Triple-A Indianapolis to start Saturday against the Cubs at PNC Park.

      Advice: Skenes likely won't be officially added to the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster until Saturday in advance of what should be one of the most highly anticipated MLB debuts for a pitching prospect in recent memory. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Skenes has been utterly dominant through his first seven starts at Indianapolis this season, pitching to a 0.99 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB over 27.1 innings. While he shouldn't be expected to immediately replicate the sterling ratios he produced in the minors, the flame-throwing right-hander should continue to make bats miss at a high clip as he makes the jump to the majors. The Pirates haven't revealed what the impending addition of Skenes means for the rest of the pitching staff, but the club could move to a six-man rotation to help keep the prized 21-year-old's workload in check during the 2024 season.
