• Rehab games scheduled
Perdomo (knee) will play in the Arizona Complex League this weekend before heading out on a rehab assignment early next week, Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: Perdomo suffered a right meniscus tear April 3 and had surgery. The report does not indicate which minor-league affiliate he'll be joining or give an estimated number of games or at-bats needed. Perdomo will return as the Diamondbacks' starting shortstop. The position has been handled by Blaze Alexander and Kevin Newman while Perdomo has been unavailable. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Racks up three hits in win
Winn went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: Winn extended his hitting streak to 16 games with Wednesday's strong effort out of the No. 8 spot in the order. He's gone 23-for-61 (.377) with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBI and two stolen bases during the streak. Winn is up to a .308/.358/.440 slash line with two homers, seven steals, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored, 11 doubles and two triples over 49 contests this season. He's seen some looks at leadoff versus left-handed pitchers, but he remains deeper in the order for now against right-handers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:23 pm
  • Outrighted to Gwinnett
Wendle cleared waivers Wednesday and was sent outright to Triple-A Gwinnett, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Wendle signed a big-league contract with Atlanta on Friday, but he was DFA'd three days later without playing in a game and will now join the team's Triple-A affiliate. The 34-year-old infielder has played in 18 games this season for the Mets, slashing .222/.243/.250 across 37 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:10 pm

  • Three hits in loss
Castro went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Castro was in a bit of a slump -- he went 0-for-12 over the previous four games before this multi-hit effort. He had a hot stretch in late April and early May, but he's otherwise been little more than league-average at the plate. The 27-year-old is slashing .258/.332/.419 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 27 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 12 doubles and three triples through 55 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:01 pm

  • Willi Castro with three hits in loss
Willi Castro went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a loss to the Royals on Wednesday night.

Advice: The Twins struggled to sustain offense against Seth Lugo and the Royals’ bullpen as Castro was the only member of the lineup with multiple hits. He hadn’t recorded a base knock in four games and has a .258 batting average with four home runs and seven stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm

  • Leaves with hamstring tightness
Luciano was lifted from Wednesday's game against the Phillies in the bottom of third inning with right hamstring tightness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. He reached base on a throwing error during his only plate appearance before exiting the contest.

Advice: Brett Wisely came off the bench to pinch hit for Luciano in the latter's second turn through the batting order. It's unclear when if Luciano first sustained the injury while he was playing shortstop in the top of the third or at some earlier in the contest, but the Giants should provide more details on his condition after the game. Luciano has been working in the short side of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Wisely at shortstop lately while Nick Ahmed (wrist) is on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:47 pm
  • Activated, optioned to Triple-A
The Guardians reinstated Martinez (hand) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Advice: Martinez was protected from the Rule 5 Draft following the 2022 season and was added to the Guardians' 40-man roster, but he's still waiting to make his MLB debut. He wasn't a serious candidate to break camp with the big club, and any outside chance he might have had to crack the Opening Day roster came to an end when he suffered a right foot contusion late in spring training. Martinez then suffered a more significant injury when he began a rehab assignment in April, as he fractured the hamate bone in his left hand during his third game with Columbus. After being shut down for the ensuing six weeks, Martinez started up a new rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League last week and is now ready to report to Columbus, where he should play on an everyday basis. • Guardians activate and option Angel Martinez
Guardians activated INF Angel Martinez from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: The 22-year-old shortstop opened the season on the injured list with a right foot contusion that turned out to be a hamate fracture. The Guardians had an opening on their 40-man roster, so no corresponding move was required. Martinez will play every day at the Triple-A level, biding his time until he gets an opportunity with the Guardians. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:35 pm

  • Returns to reserve role
Short remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Short is on the bench for the third game in a row and has settled into a full-time reserve role after Austin Riley put an end to his to his two-week absence Monday. While Riley missed 13 consecutive games with a left intercostal strain, Short picked up 12 starts at third base during that stretch, with Luke Williams getting the other nod.
