      Manager Scott Servais said Friday that Kirby has been dealing with a right knee issue, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Servais added that Kirby's knee isn't considered a major problem, but it was the reason why he was pulled from his start Friday after throwing just 88 pitches through six innings. The Mariners will keep an eye on the right-hander's condition, but at the moment it appears Kirby should still be able to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Thursday against Minnesota.       Kirby allowed a run on four hits over six innings during a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the loss to Houston.

      Advice: Kirby was in line for the win before Seattle's bullpen coughed up the lead. The lone run against him came via Jeremy Pena's RBI groundout in the sixth inning. Kirby was efficient Friday, throwing 60 of 88 pitches for strikes. He's allowed just one run while producing a stellar 22:2 K:BB over his last 18 frames. Of his seven starts this year, Kirby allowed two or fewer runs in five of them. However, he coughed up 13 combined runs in the other two. Kirby is currently projected to start in Minnesota next week.       Rafael Devers doubled twice, drove in Boston’s only two runs and walked Friday against the Twins.

      Advice: Julien was stuck in an 0-for-11 drought since his last hit April 27. The lefty slugger drove in a run with a third-inning single before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the seventh.       Civale escaped with a no-decision Friday in Tampa Bay's 10-8 win over the Mets, coughing up seven runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: New York tagged him for three runs in the second inning and four more in the fifth, but Civale still left the mound with the Rays ahead 9-7. The right-hander tossed 52 of 77 pitches for strikes as he allowed five or more runs for the third straight outing. The rough patch has sent his ratios soaring, and Civale will carry a 6.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB through 36.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the White Sox.       Advice: Kirby threw just 88 pitches before leaving Friday, and Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters after the game that he had some issues with his right knee. Obviously, that’s something to keep an eye on. It was yet again a tremendous outing when Kirby was on the mound, however, and he’s allowed just the one earned run over his last three starts.       Aaron Civale was knocked around in a no-decision against the Mets on Friday evening, giving up seven runs on six hits across his 4 2/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Civale punched out five batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. The Mets got to him for three runs in the second inning on a three-run blast off the bat of Brett Baty. He then settled in and was staked to a 9-3 lead heading into the fifth inning. That’s when the wheels came off the tracks. There, he allowed four more runs and was chased from the game, just one out shy of qualifying for a victory. Civale got 11 swings and misses on 77 pitches on the night, registering a strong CSW of 35 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a disappointing 6.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and a 39/10 K/BB ratio (36 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the White Sox.       Diamondbacks manager Torrey Lovullo said Friday that Sewald (oblique) is expected back Tuesday for Arizona's road trip, John Gambadoro of ArizonaSports.com reports.

      Advice: Sewald's rehab program was paused after the right-hander experienced soreness from his appearance with Triple-A Reno earlier this week. He returned to action with a bullpen session Wednesday, and the right-hander is slated to pitch in an extended game Saturday, per Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com. If all goes well, Sewald could be back with the team as soon as Tuesday in Cincinnati.
