    • David Hamilton absent from Tuesday’s lineup
David Hamilton is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hamilton has been playing through a lingering side issue of late and will take a seat on Tuesday night at Fenway Park with veteran righty Kevin Gausman on the mound for Toronto. The 26-year-old speedster figures to make an appearance off the bench at some point in the contest. It’ll be Enmanuel Valdez taking a turn at the keystone to open the game. • Absent from lineup
Hamilton is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hamilton hit a big home run in the Red Sox' comeback win over the Blue Jays on Monday, but he will begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. Ceddanne Rafaela is at shortstop and Enmanuel Valdez will play second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:42 pm
    • Homers in win
Hamilton started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-6 win over Toronto.

Advice: Hamilton belted his fifth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the eighth inning that narrowed the Red Sox's deficit to 6-4. It continued a renaissance that began mid-May -- Hamilton has an .869 OPS with 17 steals, eight doubles, one triple, four home runs and 13 RBI over the last 36 games. The offensive production has led to Hamilton being a lineup regular, typically at shortstop but sometimes at second base, with the latter an unsettled position at this stage. • Sitting against southpaw
Lux is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lux will retreat to the bench for the third time in four games while the Dodgers face off against another lefty (Garrett Crochet). Chris Taylor will step in for Lux at second base. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:22 pm

    • Progressing in recovery
Manager David Bell indicated this weekend that McLain, who underwent shoulder surgery in late March, should be ready to start swinging a bat soon, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "He's pretty close," Bell said. When he starts swinging, there will be a step-by-step progression from dry swinging to tee work to soft toss, etc. "It's a very well-thought out progression that he'll have to take his time with."

Advice: Bell alluded to McLain being ready for action at some point in August but also noted it's a long process between now and then. The 2021 first-rounder hit 16 home runs with an .864 OPS in his rookie season last year over 403 plate appearances, so his return could potentially give the Reds, a team that ranks just 21st in OPS, some extra pop down the stretch. • Matt McLain (shoulder) close to resuming swinging
Reds manager David Bell told reporters Sunday that Matt McLain (shoulder) is close to resuming swinging a bat.

Advice: The Reds are in the process of mapping out a definitive timeline for McLain to return at some point in August as he works his way back from late-March surgery on his left shoulder. The 24-year-old middle infielder was excellent last year in his debut for Cincinnati and figures to make a significant impact for fantasy managers down the home stretch, if he can avoid any setbacks. He’s worthy of a speculative stash in deeper mixed leagues at this point, even if he’s a couple months away from returning. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:35 am

    • Smacks second homer
Lux went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Angels.

Advice: Lux drew nine pitches in his first at-bat before clobbering a solo shot off Zach Plesac to put the Dodgers on the board. The second baseman would also add an RBI single in the fifth, giving him just his third multi-hit performance this month. Lux has now hit safely in three of his last four contests, posting three RBI and three runs over that brief stretch. Saturday also marked the first time in his last six games that he didn't strike out. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:25 am

    • David Hamilton back in Saturday’s lineup vs. Reds
David Hamilton (side) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Reds.

Advice: Hamilton is back in Boston’s lineup after missing two of their last three contests due to some lingering left side discomfort. The 26-year-old speedster should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this point since he’s batting .315 (29-for-92) with three homers and 16 stolen bases over his last 30 games. His game-changing speed is a factor for fantasy purposes, even if he’s going to bat near the bottom of the lineup more often than not. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:19 am
    • Not facing lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: With the Dodgers facing a lefty for the second straight night, Lux will once again be held out of the starting lineup. Instead, Chris Taylor will bat eighth and play second base. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:10 pm
