Anthony Rizzo delivers walk-off winner on Friday
Anthony Rizzo smacked an RBI single off of Jason Foley in the ninth inning on Friday night, propelling the Yankees to a 2-1 walk-off victory over the Tigers.
Advice: The Yankees had come up empty through eight innings against Reese Olson and a host of Tigers’ relievers. They finally got the bats going in the ninth though, as Aaron Judge singled, Alex Verdugo dropped down a bunt single and Giancarlo Stanton smacked an RBI double to start the inning. Rizzo then followed by poking a ball through the drawn in infield to walk it off. The 34-year-old slugger finished the night 1-for-3 plus a walk and is now hitting .256/.324/.403 with five homers and 17 RBI on the season.
