    • Mickey Moniak’s first grand slam propels Angels
Mickey Moniak hit his first career grand slam Tuesday to lead the Angels past the A’s 7-5.

Advice: Moniak’s slam was a homer in only six ballparks, says Statcast, but that was mostly because of its low trajectory; Moniak crushed the pitch, which left his bat at 107.9 mph. He’s earned himself some extra playing time by hitting .254/.333/.475 in 66 plate appearances this month. He came in at just .169/.208/.242 over the first two months. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Tyler Anderson goes five in win over A’s
Tyler Anderson allowed three runs over five innings Tuesday in a win over the A’s.

Advice: Anderson struck out two and walked five tonight, but walks and strikeouts simply haven’t meant anything to him this season. He’s posted a hideous 65/46 K/BB ratio while amassing a 2.63 ERA in 94 1/3 innings. The win tonight evened his record at 7-7. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Mitch Spence gives up six runs to Angels in loss
Mitch Spence was tagged for six runs in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Angels.

Advice: Spence has strictly alternated good and bad outings in eight starts since joining the A’s rotation, so if you like to put any stock in that kind of thing, he could bounce back while facing the Angels again next time out. We’d continue to shy away, though. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Earns first career win
Mazur (1-2) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over five innings, but he earned the win Tuesday over the Nationals.

Advice: Washington did all of its damage in the third inning, which was punctuated by a two-run home run by Jesse Winker. Mazur was able to rebound over two more frames, and the Padres' offense pulled ahead for good in the fifth. The right-hander's first major-league win wasn't pretty, but that's been typical for the 23-year-old as he tries to find his footing with the Padres. He's at a 7.25 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 11:17 K:BB over 22.1 innings through five starts. He'll likely head back to Triple-A El Paso once Yu Darvish (groin/elbow) is cleared to return, which could happen next week but is far from a guarantee. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

    • Three-game hitting streak
Jimenez went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI on Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Jimenez started in his third consecutive game since being activated from the injured list Sunday, and he has one hit in each contest. His performance Tuesday marked his first extra-base hit in that span, and he also has one RBI and one run scored. Jimenez has hit either third or fourth in every game since his return. • Takes hard-luck loss
Hendricks (1-5) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over seven innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Giants.

Advice: Hendricks has faced the Giants in each of his two starts since returning to the rotation. He's limited them to three runs over 12.2 innings with a 12:2 K:BB, but he's gone 1-1 in those outings. It's still a positive sign after his awful start to the campaign landed him a demotion to the bullpen, where he surrendered five runs over 14.1 innings across five appearances. He's now at a 6.87 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 43:17 K:BB over 57.2 innings through 14 appearances (nine starts) this year. Hendricks is tentatively projected to make his next start at home in a tough matchup against the Phillies. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

    • Awarded win Tuesday
Rogers (1-2) pitched a perfect inning and was awarded the win Tuesday over the Cubs.

Advice: The Giants led from the second inning on during the bullpen game. Rogers was the first reliever to post a clean outing, and the official scorer handed him his first win of the campaign. Aside from a June 18 three-run meltdown versus these same Cubs in Chicago, Rogers has had a good month. He's kept runs off the board in his other 10 appearances while adding four holds in a setup role. For the season, he's at a 2.92 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 27:2 K:BB with a save, 12 holds and a blown save across 37 innings. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

    • Third homer of June
Benintendi went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run home run Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Benintendi helped the White Sox get off to a hot start, as he delivered his home run in the first inning. He has been limited to 11 games in June due to an Achilles injury, but Benintendi has enjoyed a productive month by homering three times, driving in five and scoring five runs while also maintaining a .286 batting average. Despite the productive stretch, he still has just a .249 wOBA and 58 wRC+ across 233 plate appearances on the season. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

    • Strikes out five as opener
Rodriguez allowed a run on one hit and two walks while striking out five over 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez made his first career start and had the most work of the Giants' six pitchers in the contest, though he was never going to pitch deep enough to have a chance at the win. He's given up 11 runs over 14.1 innings in June, but he has a 15:4 K:BB in that span that suggests he's got a skill set that can keep him in the majors. For the year, he's at a 4.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB over 30.2 innings through 19 appearances. With the Giants' rotation unlikely to gain reinforcements until July, Rodriguez may see a few more opener assignments over the next couple of weeks if manager Bob Melvin opts to protect the pitchers the team has called up to plug holes.
