    • Manny Machado collects four hits against Brewers
Manny Machado went 4-for-5 with an RBI in a victory Friday over the Brewers.

Advice: Machado and Jake Cronenworth were the offensive stars for the Padres on Friday; combining to go 9-for-10 in the four-run win. He singled three times and scored two runs while improving his slash to a still-disappointing .263/.318/.387 in 72 games and 204 at-bats. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Jake Cronenworth has five-hit day in win over MIL
Jake Cronenworth went 5-for-5 with a homer, four runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-5 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Cronenworth and Manny Machado combined for nine hits on Friday, which is a large number. The infielder hit his 12th homer of the season in the sixth off Colin Rea. The five knocks for Cronenworth give him seven in the last two games, and he’s seen his average rise from .251 to .266. The 30-year-old has been streaky for the majority of his career, and he appears to be on the right side of that right now. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • George Kirby solid for seven in no-decision
George Kirby was left with a no-decision after seven innings of two-run ball Friday against the Marlins.

Advice: Kirby was undone by back-to-back solo homers in the sixth. The first of those, off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz, would have been a homer in three ballparks, according to Statcast. Apart from that sequence, Kirby was masterful. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in 11 of 16 starts. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

    • Drives in four runs
Thomas went 3-for-6 with a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over Colorado.

Advice: Thomas finished a home run shy of the cycle as he stuff the stat sheet Friday. He knocked an RBI single in the third inning and a two-run double in the fourth before capping his day off with an RBI triple in the sixth. Thomas struggled early in the year but in 24 games since returning from a knee injury, he's gone 27-for-94 (.287) with 13 extra-base this and 18 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 8:52 pm

    • Lane Thomas drives in four in win over Rockies
Lane Thomas drove in four runs while picking up three hits in an 11-5 win over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: One of those hits was a triple, and it scored CJ Abrams to give Washington their 11-5 win. He also doubled in a pair with another RBI coming on a single. Thomas also scored two runs while improving his slash to .238/.297/.420 along with 16 stolen bases in 46 games. Rotoworld Today, 8:41 pm

    • Wins with quality start
Eovaldi (4-3) yielded two runs on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Royals.

Advice: Eovaldi coughed up a solo shot to Kyle Isbel in the third inning and gave up one other run in the fifth. Since returning from the injured list, Eovaldi has produced a 4.01 ERA while going 2-1 through five starts. He's turned in two quality starts in his last three outings and forced 15 whiffs Friday, his best total since April 20. The veteran righty owns a 3.14 ERA with a 70:25 K:BB through 66 innings this season. Eovaldi's next start is lined up to be in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 pm

    • Nathan Eovaldi fans six in victory over the Royals
Nathan Eovaldi snagged his fourth victory of the season on Friday night, limiting the Royals to two runs on four hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander punched out six batters on the night while allowing two walks. He served up a solo homer to Kyle Isbel in the third inning and an RBI single to Garrett Hampson in the fifth but was able to limit the damage otherwise. Eovaldi got 14 swings and misses on 98 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll see if he can keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 70/25 K/BB ratio (66 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Brewers in Milwaukee. • Likely avoids serious injury
Gurriel did not require an X-ray on his elbow following Friday's game against the Phillies, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Gurriel appeared to suffer the injury during an at-bat in the seventh inning, though manager Torey Lovullo said after the game that he doesn't anticipate that a stint on the injured list will be required. Nevertheless, it will be worth monitoring his status ahead of Saturday's game. Rotowire.com Today, 7:45 pm
    • Diamondbacks hopeful Gurriel (elbow) will avoid IL
Diamondbacks’ skipper Torey Lovullo said after Friday’s game that he’s hopeful Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (elbow) will be able to avoid the injured list.

Advice: Lovullo noted that the 30-year-old outfielder was sore after the game on Friday but that he did not require any imaging — at least at this time. He’ll be re-evaluated on Saturday, but it sounds like he was fortunate to have avoided any type of serious injury here. Rotoworld Today, 7:32 pm
