    • Josh Naylor with two hits and two RBI
Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double, single, and two RBI on Friday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Naylor, known for hitting the ball hard, started the Guardians seven-run second inning with an 11 pitch at-bat that wound up as a cheap double and ended the rally with a dribbler that plated two runs. But hey, that’s baseball. Naylor seems to be heating up with hits in nine of his last 11 games. Rotoworld Today, 6:49 pm

    • Josh Lowe smacks two homers
Josh Lowe went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a 10-3 win for the Rays over the Pirates.

Advice: Lowe took righty Luis Ortiz deep twice and vaulted the Rays to a victory in Pittsburgh. Injuries have stalled what was hoped to be a big breakout season for the young left-hander as he only just reached 100 plate appearances after this game. There’s plenty of time for his ugly slash line to improve and his 16.4% Barrel Rate is by far the best mark he’s ever shown. Rotoworld Today, 6:32 pm

    • Ryan Pepiot unravels in fourth inning
Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs in 3 1/3 on Friday against the Pirates. He walked four and struck out three.

Advice: Pepiot started strong with three punch outs in his first three innings and held a big lead. He looked to be in complete control until a lead-off walk to Rowdy Tellez in the bottom of the fourth and wouldn’t make it through the inning. His line could’ve been worse as he left the game with the bases loaded and one out, but Colin Poche got out of the jam with a double-play ball. It seemed he didn’t have a feel for his slider in this one as he threw just three. That pitch has been a difference-maker for him this season and it would be a concern if he took it out of his repertoire going forward. Rotoworld Today, 6:29 pm

    • Swats homer No. 21
Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Thursday's 5-3 win against the Rockies.

Advice: Ohtani began the game with a solo shot to center field for the seventh leadoff home run of his career. The superstar slugger has racked up four homers over his past five contests and has notched nine RBI during that span. Ohtani leads the National League and ranks third in MLB with 21 home runs overall this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm

    • Ohtani blasts 21st home run against Rockies
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-3 with two walks and a solo home run against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Ohtani led off the game with a home run off Rockies starter Ty Blach. The home run was his 21st of the year, which leads the National League. He’s hitting .318 with 59 runs, 53 RBI and 16 steals to boot.

    • Nolan Arenado (elbow) not in Thursday’s lineup
Nolan Arenado (elbow) is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Giants.

Advice: As expected, Arenado is sitting out Thursday’s series opener against the Giants after X-rays came back negative on is left elbow after being hit by a pitch during Wednesday’s game against the Marlins. He had previously said he hoped to return by Saturday, so the Cardinals will continue to give him a couple of days off. Brandon Crawford will start at third base on Thursday and bat seventh. • Sitting as expected
Arenado (elbow) isn't in the starting lineup Thursday against the Giants, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado said Wednesday that he's aiming to return to the Cardinals' lineup Saturday, so his absence from Thursday's starting nine hardly comes as a surprise. Brandon Crawford will get the nod at the hot corner and bat seventh while Arenado continues to recover. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:49 am

    • Takes fifth loss
Ragans (4-5) allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Athletics.

Advice: Ragans rattled off his fourth straight quality start, but he's still winless over his last five outings. The four walks were a season high for the southpaw, but it was still a decent performance for him despite the end result. He's maintained a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 109:30 K:BB through 92 innings over 16 starts this season. Ragans is projected to make his next start at home versus the Marlins in a favorable matchup. • Posts another quality start
Ryan allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Advice: Ryan gave up a third-inning solo homer to Isaac Paredes but otherwise kept the Rays off the scoreboard. The right-handed hurler racked up an impressive 19 swinging strikes, though he finished with a modest five punchouts. Ryan recorded his third straight quality start and his 11th of the season, which is tied for fifth in the majors. He's complemented that total with a 3.13 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 95:15 K:BB over 92 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:04 pm
