• George Kirby solid for seven in no-decision
George Kirby was left with a no-decision after seven innings of two-run ball Friday against the Marlins.

Advice: Kirby was undone by back-to-back solo homers in the sixth. The first of those, off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz, would have been a homer in three ballparks, according to Statcast. Apart from that sequence, Kirby was masterful. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in 11 of 16 starts. Rotoworld Friday, 9:56 pm

  • Cal Raleigh slips below Mendoza Line in loss
Cal Raleigh went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Raleigh often seems to come up with the big hit, but the little hit has been a problem this year, as he’s batted just .198/.276/.380 in 272 plate appearances. The Mariners aren’t going to change much about his usage, but maybe they’ll give him the occasional extra day off and roll with Mitch Garver behind the plate. Rotoworld Friday, 9:56 pm

  • Getting breather
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Colorado.

Advice: Ruiz will be spelled by Drew Millas on Friday after catching four straight games. Ruiz is slashing .198/.231/.289 with four homers in 199 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:18 pm
  • Scheduled for bullpen session
Santos (lat) is set to throw a live bullpen session in Miami on Saturday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Santos continues to ramp up his activity level as he recovers from a right lat strain that he's been dealing with since February. Saturday's session will mark the first time the right-hander will face live batters, and he's inching closer to a rehab assignment. Santos appeared in 60 games with the White Sox last season, posting a 3.39 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 66:17 K:BB over 66.1 frames. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:18 pm

  • Gregory Santos will throw live bullpen Saturday
Gregory Santos (lat) is set to throw a live bullpen session in Miami on Saturday.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander continues to work his way back from a right lat strain that has shelved him since spring training. Provided he avoids any setbacks, he’s expected to be an option to rejoin the Mariners at some point in July. Rotoworld Friday, 2:13 pm

  • Officially promoted
The Mets recalled Hudson from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 33-year-old will join the Mets for this weekend's three-game set against the Cubs as Luis Torrens heads to the paternity list. Hudson hasn't seen action in the big leagues since 2020 and has appeared in just eight games across parts of three seasons. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:26 am

  • Jhonkensy Noel plates two on Thursday at Triple-A
Guardians 1B/OF prospect Jhonkensy Noel went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Thursday for Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Noel’s stock slipped a bit last year as he struggled in the upper minors, but he’s really turned things around this year, cutting back on the strikeouts and still hitting for power. The 22-year-old slugger has 17 round-trippers in 62 games so far this season at Triple-A Columbus. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get a shot in Cleveland at some point later this year. • Mets recall Joe Hudson as extra catching depth
Mets recalled C Joe Hudson from Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Hudson gets the call to join New York’s active roster ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Cubs with backup catcher Luis Torrens away from the club on paternity leave. The 33-year-old journeyman backstop hasn’t appeared in the majors since the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:27 pm

  • Will be added to roster
The Mets will recall Hudson from Triple-A Syracuse before Friday's game versus the Cubs, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.

Advice: He's take the roster spot vacated by Luis Torrens, who is going on paternity leave. Hudson will back up Francisco Alvarez for the weekend before returning to Syracuse next week. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:28 pm
