    • Josh Hader fans two in non-save situation vs. M’s
Josh Hader struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Hader got the call to protect a four-run advantage in a non-save situation and made things interesting by giving up singles to Julio Rodríguez and Ty France before striking out Dominic Canzone and getting Mitch Haniger to ground out to extinguish the threat. The 30-year-old lefty has allowed just two runs with a 20/4 K/BB ratio across 11 appearances since the start of May. Simply put, he remains one of the few elite closers in the fantasy landscape. • Limits damage in loss
Ragans (4-4) took the loss Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing three runs on nine hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Ragans stranded a runner in all five of his innings pitched and had a difficult time getting through a Twins lineup that featured seven righties and a pair of switch hitters. The southpaw relied heavily on his ability to miss bats, inducing 14 whiffs and generating seven or more strikeouts for the fifth time in his last six starts. Ragans will close out his two-start week with a home outing against the Padres on Sunday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:30 pm
    • Cole Ragans allows three earned runs in loss
Cole Ragans allowed nine hits and three earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: Ragans ran into trouble in the first inning when he allowed back-to-back hits to his first two batters faced, only to see both players score on a Jose Miranda single a few batters later. Ragans would allow another run in the fourth on a Manuel Margot double, as the left was hit around for much of the evening. His nine hits allowed tied for the second-most he’s allowed on the season, as Ragans has struggled at times to limit base runners despite a solid 3.49 ERA. He walked 30 batters while walking eight this month and is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:36 pm
    • Yields run Sunday
Hader allowed a solo home run and struck out one batter during Sunday's win over Oakland.

Advice: Hader entered a non-save situation and eventually finished off the 5-2 win, but not before coughing up a solo shot to Shea Langeliers. That homer snapped Hader's 8.1-inning scoreless streak and his seven-inning hitless streak. The veteran southpaw owns a 4.13 ERA with a 38:9 K:BB and seven saves this season. • Craig Kimbrel locks down 12th save in win
Craig Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth to slam the door on a 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: The save was Kimbrel’s 12th on the season and his third this week alone. The 35-year-old scared fantasy managers (and Orioles fans) in early May when he went through a rough patch that had him temporarily removed from the closer’s role. However, this is who Kimbrel is at this point. The veteran now has seven straight scoreless appearances and a 3.15 ERA on the season. He remains a solid closer option in fantasy leagues on one of the best teams in baseball. Rotoworld May 26, 3:53 pm

    • Locks down 12th save
Kimbrel struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Kimbrel hasn't allowed a walk or a hit over his last 4.2 innings, and he's pitched 6.2 consecutive scoreless innings. He's earned a save in each of his last four outings, retaking the closer role after a shaky stretch in late April and early May saw him take a short stint in lower-leverage assignments. Kimbrel is 12-for-15 in save chances this season while posting a 3.15 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB over 20 innings. He's also collected four holds and a 4-1 record, but it looks like most of his appearances will be in the ninth inning going forward. Rotowire.com May 26, 3:52 pm

    • Picks up ninth save
Doval gave up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one in the ninth inning Friday to record his ninth save of the season in an 8-7 win over the Mets.

Advice: The Giants scored six of their runs in the eighth and ninth innings to create the save chance, but Doval very nearly squandered it following a leadoff double by pinch hitter DJ Stewart and a fielding error by Marco Luciano. It was the first earned run the right-hander has allowed since May 8 at Coors Field, and on the season Doval carries a 3.05 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 27:15 K:BB through 20.2 innings while converting nine of 10 save opportunities. • Craig Kimbrel earns save after near-miss homer
Craig KImbrel picked up his 11th save with a perfect ninth against the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Sort of perfect anyway, given that it took Colton Cowser robbing Tommy Pham of a homer to end the game. Still, even if that ball had managed to get over Cowser’s glove in center, Kimbrel did have another run to play with. It goes as Kimbrel’s sixth straight hitless and walkless appearance. • Records seventh save
Hader struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Hader has not allowed a hit over his last five appearances spanning seven innings, and he has a 12:2 K:BB with three saves and two wins in that span. The Astros are trending upward as well, which has given Hader more consistent work. The southpaw is at a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 37:9 K:BB over 23 innings while converting seven of eight save chances this season. Rotowire.com May 24, 10:00 pm
