      Alvarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: The Houston designated hitter provided two insurance runs by launching a 397-foot homer off Zach Pop in the ninth inning to extend the Astros' lead to 3-0. Alvarez has opened July nicely on the tails of a scorching June in which he hit .349 (30-for-86) with seven homers, 19 RBI and 20 runs scored.       Josh Hader picked up his 13th save despite giving up a homer in the ninth Monday against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Ernie Clement took him deep. That’s two homers allowed by Hader in his last three games and six on the season. Still, his ERA has fallen steadily these last couple of months; he has a 2.40 ERA and a 49/7 K/BB ratio in 30 innings since Apr. 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

      Hader picked up the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays, pitching one inning with one strikeout and allowing a solo home run.

      Advice: The Houston southpaw entered the ninth with a three-run lead and fired 13 pitches to lock up his 178th career save. However, Hader also allowed his sixth homer of the year -- a 404-foot solo shot to Ernie Clement -- raising his 2024 home-run rate to 1.4 HR/9.       Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

      Advice: Judge helped New York get off to a fast start with a 423-foot, two-run shot to center field in the first inning. He added a single later in the contest to notch his third straight multi-hit game, and the slugger has gone 7-for-12 with five RBI during that stretch.     • Gallen’s start moved up to face Dodgers
      The Diamondbacks are moving up Zac Gallen’s next start to Thursday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The Arizona Diamondbacks want to get Gallen pitching on every fifth day until the All-Star break, which means he will now face the Dodgers instead of the Padres on Friday as was originally planned. Instead, Slade Cecconi will be moved back to take that start. It’s obviously not great news for fantasy leagues, but the Dodgers have some injuries in their lineup, and Gallen is talented enough that you’re probably starting him regardless of opponent.       Castillo allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three over five innings Sunday against the Twins. He did not factor into the decision.

      Advice: The Twins struck early with a run in the first on two base hits. Castillo went on to retire 11 of the next 12 batters he faced but then ran into more trouble in the fifth, allowing a double and two more singles, which led to another pair of runs for the Twins. He was able to work his way through the inning, but his day would end there at 77 pitches. Castillo managed to not give up any free passes for the first time since May 12, though he's also failed to complete six innings in four of his last five starts. He still holds a respectable 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 103:30 K:BB in 104.2 innings and projects to take the mound again to kick off a weekend series with Toronto.       Castro went 2-for-4 with two steals and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Mariners.

      Advice: Castro notched base hits in his first two at-bats of the afternoon and stole second both times. He's now up to 10 steals on the year, marking a second consecutive season with double-digit thefts. Castro closed out June on a heater at the dish. In 13 games since June 16, he's slashing .370/.414/.667 with two homers, nine RBI and 13 runs scored. He's totaled seven multi-hit efforts over that span.       Advice: O'Hearn got a rare start versus lefty Andrew Heaney on Sunday and came through with three base hits when most of the lineup was held in check. Heading into Sunday's game, O'Hearn was just 2-for-15 against southpaws for the season but he got the start with Ryan Mountcastle unable to go due to an illness. He's now reached safely in 13 consecutive games to close out June and is slashing .285/.347/.461 with 10 homers, 34 RBI, 31 runs and a 22:25 BB:K in 251 plate appearances this season.
