    • Two hits, including homer, in win
Devers went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: After opening the game 0-for-3, Devers singled and later came around to score in the top of the eighth inning before launching a two-run home run off Jay Jackson in the following frame. The long ball was his fourth of the season and his first in 10 games. Since returning from a bone bruise in his left knee April 24, Devers has batted .415 with two homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored over 41 at-bats in 11 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:41 pm
    • Max Fried allows four runs in loss to Dodgers
Max Fried allowed four runs on four hits in seven innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: Fried pitched well enough on the day, striking out seven and walking three while posting a 20 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. He didn’t have his best command and had a zone rate under 50 percent on the day, but he avoided major damage until giving up a two-run home run to Teoscar Hernandez in the sixth inning. He should bounce back next weekend against the Mets. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:19 pm
    • James Paxton stifles Braves in win on Sunday
James Paxton allowed one run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings in a win over the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: Paxton struck out three and walked two on the day with the only damage allowed being a solo home run to Marcell Ozuna in the seventh inning. He had just a 15 percent whiff rate and 17 percent CSW, so it certainly wasn’t a dominant performance, but he pounded the zone and kept the Braves off-balance. He has a solid 3.06 ERA on the season, but will be tough to trust against the Padres next weekend outside of the deepest formats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:15 pm

    • Jazz Chisholm has two hits, two steals in win
Jazz Chisholm went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored, and two steals in a win over the A’s.

Advice: Chisholm’s two hits were both singles and both were under 93 mph off the bat; however, he made the most of both trips on the bases with two steals, which gives him seven on the season. The 26-year-old is slashing just .234/.319/.383 on the season and is just one of many Marlins off to a slow start to 2024. Perhaps the possibility of being traded to another team during the team’s firesale will spark a hot streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:59 pm
    • James McArthur blows save in ninth, loses in 10th
James McArthur took a blown save and a loss after allowing two runs — one earned — between the ninth and 10th innings Sunday against the Rangers.

Advice: McArthur blew the save by giving up a game-tying homer to Jonah Heim in the ninth. In spite of that, the Royals stuck with him in the 10th. He allowed only the automatic runner to score, but the Royals couldn’t let him off the hook from there. It’s not the kind of outing that will reflect particularly badly on him. He’s still 7-for-9 saving games, and the loss was his first. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:57 pm
    • Blown save, loss versus Texas
McArthur (1-1) blew a save and picked up the loss after he pitched two innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning defeat to the Rangers.

Advice: McArthur entered the game with the Royals up 2-1 in the top of the ninth inning and gave up a game-tying solo home run to Jonah Heim with one out in the inning. He later returned for the top of the 10th frame, allowing the inherited runner to score on an RBI single by Nathaniel Lowe. The blown save was McArthur's second in nine total save opportunities this season, and he currently possesses a 2.87 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 15.2 innings in 13 appearances this season. • Resumes throwing program
Rodriguez (shoulder) played catch from 60-to-75 feet Sunday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Rodriguez landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation following his April 29 start against the Yankees, and he ended up being shut down from throwing for only a few days. The right-hander could soon ramp up to bullpen sessions, and it remains to be seen if he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining Baltimore's rotation. • Could be back by next weekend
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that Javier (neck) is expected to return from the 15-day injured list "by at least the Detroit series," which begins Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw 68 pitches during his rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, allowing three runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks. The Astros have already listed their probable starters for the three-game set against the Yankees this week, which sets up Javier to potentially pitch next weekend in Detroit. • Out with elbow inflammation
The Padres placed Musgrove on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right elbow inflammation.

Advice: Musgrove was expected to start Tuesday against the Cubs but will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. It's unclear when the injury surfaced for the right-hander, who struck out nine and allowed two runs over six innings his last time out versus the Cubs. According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, there's hope Musgrove will be able to return from the injured list when first eligible May 17 in Atlanta. Randy Vasquez was recalled in a corresponding move and could step into the rotation for San Diego. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:55 pm
