    • Sixto Sánchez lifted with lead in fifth
Sixto Sánchez yielded two runs in four-plus innings Friday in a no-decision against the Rangers.

Advice: Sánchez, who went without a strikeout tonight, was pulled with a 4-1 lead after giving up a double and a single to start the fifth. Declan Cronin took over then and did a nice job in allowing only one of the runners to score. Sánchez has completed five innings just once seven starts for the Marlins, and he’s still looking for the first victory of his comeback. His ERA stands at 6.06. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • José Ureña pulled in third in loss to Marlins
José Ureña lasted just 2 1/3 innings and gave up four runs — two earned — in Friday’s loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Ureña’s original organization treated him badly tonight, with Nick Gordon hitting a two-run homer off him. Ureña has been decent in his rotation stint for the Rangers, but it’d certainly be best if the team was able to stick him into a middle-relief role in the not-too-distant future. • Kenta Maeda struggles in loss to Red Sox on Friday
Kenta Maeda struggled in Friday night’s loss to the Red Sox, giving up five runs on eight hits over his 4 2/3 innings.

Advice: On the plus side, Maeda was able to punch out six batters on the night while allowing just two walks. He was able to keep the Red Sox off the board through the first three innings, but they broke through for four runs in the fourth inning — including a three-run blast off the bat of Ceddanne Rafaela. Maeda got 11 swings and misses on 85 pitches on the evening, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to improve upon a troublesome 6.25 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and a 30/12 K/BB ratio (40 1/3 innings) when he toes the slab against the Rangers in Arlington on Wednesday. • Patrick Corbin solid over six innings
Patrick Corbin allowed two earned runs across six innings in a loss to the Guardians on Friday. He struck out five and walked three.

Advice: Corbin is what he is at this point. Sure, he has three quality starts in his last four starts. Then you see his 5.83 and remember what he is. Leave him on the waiver wire. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

    • Miles Mikolas logs quality start in loss on Friday
Miles Mikolas posted a quality start in Friday’s loss to the Phillies, surrendering three runs on five hits across his six frames.

Advice: Mikolas struck out five batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came during a three-run uprising in the second inning as Brandon Marsh plated a run with a ground ball and Edmundo Sosa crushed a two-run homer. He finished his day with four scoreless innings though to keep the Cardinals in the game. The 35-year-old hurler got eight whiffs on 96 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll carry a disappointing 5.54 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 50/14 K/BB ratio (65 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Astros in Houston. Rotoworld Today, 5:58 pm

    • Robbie Ray to pitch in ACL game next week
Robbie Ray (elbow) is scheduled to pitch in an Arizona Complex League game at some point next week as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

Advice: Ray continues to make strides toward a return to the Giants’ rotation. He’s going to wind up needing several minor league rehab starts after he’s finished with his work in the Arizona Complex League before he’s ready to return. As long as he avoids any setbacks along the way, he could be ready to make his Giants’ debut before the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 5:10 pm

    • Dodgers designate Elieser Hernandez for assignment
Dodgers designated RHP Elieser Hernandez for assignment.

Advice: The Dodgers needed to clear a spot on the active roster for Evan Phillips’ return on Friday night and unfortunately Hernandez was the odd-man out this time around. The 29-year-old hurler has posted an 8.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 6/3 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings for the Dodgers this season. It’s likely that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra pitching depth for the Dodgers at Triple-A Oklahoma City. Rotoworld Today, 5:01 pm
    • DFA'd by Dodgers
The Dodgers designated Hernandez for assignment Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Hernandez will be pushed off the Dodgers' roster in order to make room for Evan Phillips (hamstring), who was reinstated from the IL in a corresponding move. The 29-year-old Hernandez struggled heavily upon joining the big-league club May 15, allowing nine earned runs in just 9.2 innings of work. Despite his problems in the majors, other teams may be willing to take a chance on him based on his 2.83 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in Triple-A. Rotowire.com Today, 4:26 pm
    • Elects free agency
Bowman will enter free agency after clearing waivers Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: After being acquired by the Twins on May 2, Bowman struggled in his four outings with the Diamondbacks, allowing six earned runs on eight hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He was designated for assignment Sunday, and the 33-year-old will hit the open market and look to join a team in need of right-handed depth out of the bullpen. Rotowire.com Today, 4:14 pm
