    • Adoils García goes hitless in fourth straight game
Adolis García went 0-for-4 as the Rangers’ cleanup man Friday against the Marlins.

Advice: This has turned into quite a slump for García; he’s batting .164 in 110 at-bats since Apr. 25. The Rangers still don’t have much reason to drop him out of the cleanup spot, since most of the hitters behind him are struggling, too. His first four weeks were so strong that he’s still hitting a reasonable .232/.289/.457 for the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm
    • Swats homer Wednesday
Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 victory against the Angels.

Advice: Verdugo's fourth-inning solo shot equaled the margin of victory in the pitching-dominated matchup. The long ball was his eighth of the season, putting Verdugo well on pace to surpass the career-best mark of 13 homers that he's reached two separate seasons. In his first campaign as a Yankee, Verdugo has added 29 RBI, 27 runs, a stolen base and a .260/.321/.439 slash line through 221 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:06 am

    • Alex Verdugo homers in win over Angels
Alex Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the Yankees’ 2-1 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Despite the Yankees putting five men on base through three frames, they didn’t bring a run in to score until Verdugo’s solo blast off Tyler Anderson to lead off the fourth inning. It was one of only two runs the team would score in Wednesday’s victory. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .260/.321/.439 with eight homers and 29 RBI across 221 plate appearances. • Corbin Carroll tallies three hits in losing effort
Corbin Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double on Wednesday in the Diamondbacks’ loss at the hands of the Rangers.

Advice: It’s been an unexpected struggle this season for Carroll as Wednesday’s three-hit effort was his first of the year and just his ninth multi-hit performance through 52 games. To put that in context, he recorded 47 games last year with at least two hits across 155 contests. The 23-year-old holds a calamitous .567 OPS with two homers and nine steals so far, and the lack of consistent hard contact across his quality of contact metrics doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence that he’ll eventually turn things around as the season progresses. It’s possible he’s been playing through a lingering shoulder issue, because it’s difficult to explain what exactly is going on otherwise. We’re not concerned long-term given his immense talent, but there are no easy answers at the moment. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:23 pm
    • Plays outfield
Garcia started in right field and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: This was Garcia's first start in the outfield since missing two games due to a forearm injury. He's gone 3-for-23 (.130) with a home run, a double and two RBI since his return. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:48 am
    • Grabbing seat
Santander is absent from the lineup for Monday's tilt against the Red Sox.

Advice: Santander has homered twice in his last four contests, but he's also done a lot of swinging and missing of late with 10 strikeouts across his past 25 plate appearances. Kyle Stowers is getting a start in right field. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:48 am

    • Goes deep Sunday
Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Verdugo ripped a leadoff homer off Robert Suarez in the ninth to bring the Yankees within three and extend his hitting streak to eight games. He's been locked in over the second half of May, slashing .308/.309/.519 with two homers, 11 RBI and seven runs over his last 13 games. He's making better contact this season as a whole, evidenced by his 10.8 strikeout rate, which is currently the fourth lowest in all of baseball among qualifying players. For the year, Verdugo has provided a steady presence in the lineup, slashing .261/.324/.431 with seven homers, 28 RBI, 26 runs and a 19:23 BB:K in 213 plate appearances. • Triples, scores in loss
Carroll went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple and a run scored in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Miami.

Advice: Arizona's offense couldn't get anything going until Carroll tripled and scored in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was the outfielder's fourth triple of the season, all coming within the last eight games. However, there's been little to celebrate for Carroll, whose .188 average and .096 ISO are miles below what they were in 2023. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:13 am
    • Alex Verdugo slugs solo homer in loss Sunday
Alex Verdugo slugged his seventh home run of the season on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to power the Yankees to victory over the Padres.

Advice: Verdugo tagged Padres’ closer Robert Suarez for his 351-foot (99.3 mph EV) solo shot in the ninth inning that pulled the Yankees to within three runs at 5-2. He finished the afternoon 1-for-4 plus a strikeout and is now hitting .261/.324/.431 with seven long balls and 28 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:10 pm
