    • Remaining on rehab assignment
Nootbaar (oblique) will remain on his rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield for at least a couple more days to work on his timing at the plate, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The initial expectation was that Nootbaar would rejoin the Cardinals on the road for their weekend series against the Nationals, but he's evidently not satisfied with his swing and will work to fine-tune things for a bit longer. It now seems likely that Nootbaar will return July 9 when the Cardinals are back home. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

    • Goes seven innings in win
Webb (7-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up both runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then settled in to produce a strong start by not allowing a runner past second base for the next six frames. He's gone seven innings in six of his last eight starts as he continues to be an innings-eater at the top of the Giants' rotation. For the season, Webb has a 3.09 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 103:27 K:BB over 119.1 innings through 19 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays. • Webb allows two runs in win over Braves Thursday
Logan Webb allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Giants’ 4-2 victory over the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. The win was his seventh of the year. Webb gave up an RBI double to Ozzie Albies in the first inning and Albies later scored on an Austin Riley sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Braves. Then he held Atlanta scoreless for the next six innings. Webb has gone seven innings and allowed two runs in four of his last six starts. He’s been one of the most consistent pitchers in fantasy this year and has a 3.09 ERA. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

    • Calf remains tight
Diaz said his calf is still a little bit tight Thursday, which is why he's not sprinting full out on the bases, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Advice: Diaz was reinstated from the 10-day injured list June 30 after nursing a left calf strain. Since his return, the catcher is 6-for-18 with two doubles. However, it appears the calf injury is still lingering, as the 33-year-old says he will be careful about it. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:52 pm

    • Rafael Devers walks three times, drives in two
Rafael Devers drove in two runs while walking three times in a victory over the Marlins in extra-innings Thursday.

Advice: Hard to drive in runs without getting a hit, but Devers is capable of doing anything he set his mind to. He drove in both runs on fielder’s choices. All three of the walks were intentional, which is not something you see too often in 2024, or any year really. He’s now hitting .288/.375/.568 on the season with 51 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:50 pm

    • Kyle Tucker out through All-Star Break
According to the Houston Chronicle, Kyle Tucker (shin) and Justin Verlander (neck) will both be out through the All-Star break.

Advice: Tucker’s long absence with a shin bruise will continue. It’s fair to wonder if there’s something more going on here, but Tucker will remain out for at least another two weeks through the All-Star game on July 16th. Both Astros fans and fantasy managers hope that will be enough time to get Tucker back on the field on July 19th. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:10 am

    • Out through All-Star break
Astros manager Joe Espada said Thursday that Tucker (lower leg) won't return from the injured list before the All-Star break, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 27-year-old saw his recovery progress from the lower leg bruise pick up this week, but he won't be back before the midseason festivities. Tucker has been on the injured list nearly a month and could require a rehab assignment before being cleared for major-league action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 am

    • Day off Thursday
Vaughn is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Cleveland.

Advice: It appears to be a routine day off for Vaughn after making seven straight starts. The White Sox are giving Gavin Sheets a start at first base while Vaughn gets some rest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:20 am

    • Day off Thursday
Ruiz is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Ruiz caught the first three games of the series, so he's due for a day off during Thursday's matinee. Riley Adams will do the catching for Jake Irvin. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:16 am
