Bregman went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Bregman has been off to a slow start this season but has improved of late, as he's collected six hits in his last 23 at-bats. He also slugged his first home run of the season Tuesday. While Bregman has only a .078 ISO in 113 plate appearances this season, he's striking out at just a 12.4 percent clip, meaning his .216 average should continue to rise. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:47 pm

    • Bregman hits first homer of season vs. Guardians
Alex Bregman went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Guardians.

Advice: The Astros found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning, but Bregman’s 426-foot blast, which marked his first homer of the season, drew things even at 3-3. It’s been a slow start to the season for Bregman, who entered the day slashing .216/.287/.268. He’s hit safely in four of his last five games and could be on the verge of finally heating up. Getting that first home run out of the way is hopefully a step in the right direction. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:45 pm

    • Shaking off cold stretch
Bregman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Sunday against Colorado.

Advice: Bregman has an ugly .216 average in 108 plate appearances to start the season. He's shown small signs of turning things around at the plate, as he has at least one hit in three of his last four games. More concerning is that Bregman has just a .052 ISO to go along with two barrels in 81 batted-ball events. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:35 pm

    • Heating up at plate
Devers went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Devers produced a second consecutive three-hit effort after missing five games with a knee injury. He's gone 6-for-9 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in his two games back. The downtime appears to have given the balky shoulder he was dealing with during Boston's homestand last week time to heal, but Devers has yet to resume playing third base. According to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe, manager Alex Cora said prior to Thursday's game that Devers is likely to remain the Red Sox's designated hitter through Friday before potentially returning to action at third base Saturday versus the Cubs. • Likely back at third base Saturday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that Devers (knee) isn't comfortable enough yet to play third base but will likely return to the position Saturday versus the Cubs, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The good news is Devers is well enough to hit, as he'll be the club's designated hitter again Thursday after homering from the spot in his return to the lineup Wednesday. The Cubs are starting left-hander Shota Imanaga on Friday, so it's possible the lefty-hitting Devers will rest that day before returning to third base Saturday. With Devers (twice) and Tyler O'Neill (once) occupying the DH spot the last three days, Masataka Yoshida has been on the bench. However, it sounds like Yoshida should be back in there soon enough. • Returns with bang
Devers went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over Cleveland.

Advice: Devers was in the lineup for the first time in a week while dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee. He returned as the designated hitter and recorded his first multi-hit game since Opening Day. The next hurdle for Devers will be playing a game in the field. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:24 pm

    • Back in lineup at DH
Devers (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Wednesday's contest in Cleveland, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Devers hasn't played since April 17 due to a bone bruise on his left knee, and between that injury and a shoulder problem, he's seen action in just three of the last 12 games. However, he's feeling well enough to give it a go Wednesday, albeit in a non-defensive role. Devers should be ready to play third base soon. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:30 am

    • Rafael Devers back in lineup Wednesday
Rafael Devers is back in the starting lineup as a designated hitter for the Red Sox against the Guardians on Wednesday.

Advice: This will be the 27-year-old’s first game since April 17. Devers has been dealing with a knee injury and the team obviously wanted to be as a cautious as possible with their best player. He’ll look to improve at the plate as he’s gotten off to a slow start with a .188 batting average in his first 13 games this season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 11:28 am

    • Rafael Devers (knee) set to return on Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Rafael Devers (knee) will return for Wednesday’s contest against the Guardians.

Advice: Devers has been limited to just 12 plate appearances since April 11 due to separate knee and shoulder injuries. All indications are that the 27-year-old franchise cornerstone won’t wind up requiring a trip to the injured list and should return to Boston’s lineup on Wednesday night following a five-game absence due to a bone bruise in his left knee.
