    • Emerson Hancock allows four ER over four innings
      Emerson Hancock allowed four earned runs over four innings in Tuesday’s win over the Twins.

      Advice: Things got rough for Hancock in the third inning. Entering the frame with a 2-0 lead, Hancock allowed a two-out single to Jose Miranda followed by a walk to Edouard Julien. Trevor Larnach would single to score Miranda, but it was a three-run homer by Ryan Jeffers in the following at-bat that gave that did the most damage. Emerson would pitch a perfect fourth and be pulled in place of Gabe Speier to start the fifth. He didn’t record a strikeout in this one, and will carry a 5.24 ERA into Sunday’s start against the Athletics. Rotoworld 1 minute ago
       
    • Colin Rea surrenders four runs to Royals
      Colin Rea surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday versus the Royals.

      Advice: All of the runs came in the fifth, which started off with an MJ Melendez triple to right that probably ought to have been caught by Sal Frelick. Had that turned into the out, Rea likely gets through five scoreless and gets to open the sixth. To be fair, though, the Royals did hit Rea quite hard over the rest of the fifth. Thanks to a late comeback, Rea avoided what would have been his first loss. He remains 3-0 with a 3.29 ERA. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago
       
    • Trevor Megill picked up third save for Brewers
      Trevor Megill picked up his third save with a perfect ninth against the Royals on Tuesday.

      Advice: Megill got the call over Joel Payamps after the Brewers scored three times in the top of the ninth to take a one-run lead. It was a little surprising that neither had pitched previously in an effort to keep the game close; neither had worked since Payamps got the eighth and Megill earned a save on Friday. Megill is pretty obviously the favorite for saves at this point, and since he threw just eight pitches tonight, he’ll be available again Wednesday. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago
       
    • Earns third win
      Holton (3-0) tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win Tuesday against the Guardians. He allowed two hits and struck out three.

      Advice: Detroit starter Kenta Maeda struggled in this one, allowing seven runs across only two innings of work, which forced Holton into the game in the third. The lefty pitched much better, however, and he managed to snag his third win as the Tigers poured on the offense in the 11-7 victory. Holton has been mostly good this season outside of allowing five runs while retiring just one batter back on April 26. He'll continue to serve as a long-relief option out of Detroit's bullpen.       Maeda allowed seven runs on five hits across only two innings of work but did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 11-7 win over the Guardians. He walked three and struck out one.

      Advice: Maeda wasn't very good in this one, but he escaped his second loss of the season thanks to a ton of run support. The veteran righty is now sitting with a subpar 6.75 ERA across his first seven starts with the Tigers, though he had only allowed one run over 11 innings in his previous two appearances coming into Tuesday, so there were some signs he was turning things around before this dud. Home runs have been a problem, as the 36-year-old has now allowed nine of them in 30.2 innings. Maeda will look to keep the ball in the park and post a better line in his next scheduled start, which is penciled in for Monday against the Marlins. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

      Randy Vásquez allowed one earned run over 4 1/3 innings while striking out six in the Padres’ loss to the Cubs.

      Advice: Vásquez’s lone blemish of the night came on a solo home run from Cody Bellinger. He would be pulled with one out in the fifth after allowing a single to Miguel Amaya, but managed to lower his ERA to 4.50 on the season and has allowed one earned run in two of his three starts on the year.       Rogers went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-7 win over the Guardians.

      Advice: Rogers was part of an offensive onslaught for Detroit, and he extended his hitting streak to six games in the process. The catcher is still batting just .194 for the season, though he was batting .125 before his current hitting streak. More concerning is the fact that Rogers only has two home runs through 23 games this year after clubbing 21 long balls in 107 contests last season.     • Vierling has multi-hit game in win
      Matt Vierling went 2-for-5 with two RBI in the victory over the Guardians on Tuesday.

      Advice: Vierling continues to hit as his .282 average and .155 ISO this year would be career-highs. The Tigers sent Parker Meadows to the minors earlier this week, leaving Vierling and Wenceel Perez as the only viable options in centerfield. Vierling has multiple paths to playing time as even with Perez in the lineup he got the start at third base. He should see everyday at-bats until he cools off, making him an option in deeper formats.       Ceddanne Rafaela went 2-for-4 with one RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Braves.

      Advice: Rafaela singled in the sixth with the bases loaded to score Vaughn Grissom, tying the game at 2-2 after a Reese McGuire walk forced home their first run of the evening. Rafaela is slashing a meager .211/.255/.379 on the year but is batting .263 over the last two weeks. He’s heating up a bit after getting off to a slow start, but shouldn’t be counted on in fantasy outside of the most desperate situations. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
