    • Kyle Tucker homers in loss to Yankees
Kyle Tucker went 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Tucker got the scoring started in the first inning with a 399-foot home run off Luis Gil that left the bat at 108.1 mph. It was his 10th home run and 24th RBI of the season, and Tucker is now slashing .279/.396/.566. He’s every bit a first-round pick in all fantasy leagues. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Luis Gil handles Astros in win on Tuesday
Luis Gil allowed one run on one hit in six innings in a win over the Astros.

Advice: Gil was effectively wild on Tuesday, which is something we’ve come to expect from the 25-year-old. He walked four on the day and had just a 42 percent zone rate; however, he also had a 23 percent whiff rate and struck out five batters. Much of Gil’s success came on the changeup which had a 40 percent whiff rate, while his four-seam fastball was his most effective strike pitch. At some point, Gil is not going to be able to keep walking this tightrope, but he has a 2.92 ERA on the season and has two solid outings coming up against the Rays and White Sox. • Reynaldo López strikes out 5 vs. Red Sox
Reynaldo López allowed one earned run and six hits over 5 1/3 innings in the Braves’ 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: López was solid through five innings, but three walks in the sixth – one of which walked in the Red Sox first run of the night – led to him being replaced by Aaron Bummer. He would only be charged with one earned run before the inning finally ended. López scattered six hits across his outing, and pitched his way out of a dicey first inning to leave two runners stranded. López has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his six starts this season, and will look to earn his first win of May on Monday against the Cubs. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Burnes allows three earned runs in loss to Nats
Corbin Burnes allowed five hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Burnes needed 50 pitches to get through the first three innings and allowed his first run in the second inning when Joey Meneses singled home Jesse Winker. He allowed four base runners through the first three innings but would settle in to retire nine of 10 hitters in innings four through six. He’d be chased quickly in the seventh after a leadoff double by Joey Meneses was followed by RBI singles from Eddie Rosario and Trey Lipscomb, but it was an otherwise solid outing for Burnes, who lacked offensive support in this one. He’ll look to tally his first win of May when he toes the rubber Monday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Today, 6:16 pm

    • Wenceel Pérez returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Guards
Wenceel Pérez (illness) has returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Guardians.

Advice: Pérez is back in center field and batting second for Tuesday’s contest at Progressive Field following a two-game absence due to illness. The 24-year-old has gotten off to an encouraging start in his big-league debut, batting .296 with three homers and two steals in 19 games since being called up back in early April. • Back in action
Perez (illness) is batting second and playing center field Tuesday against Cleveland.

Advice: Perez had missed back-to-back games due to illness but will return to the lineup for Tuesday's action, replacing the now-demoted Parker Meadows in center field. Rotowire.com Today, 1:15 pm

    • D-backs activate Paul Sewald for Tuesday return
Diamondbacks activated RHP Paul Sewald from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Sewald has been sidelined since the beginning of the regular season with a left oblique strain. The 33-year-old veteran, who finished with a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP with both the Mariners and Diamondbacks last season, will slide back as the D-backs’ closer which puts an end to Kevin Ginkel’s brief stint in the role. • Officially back from injured list
The Diamondbacks reinstated Sewald (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: The 33-year-old right-hander has been sidelined by an oblique strain but is ready to rejoin the team following three rehab appearances. Manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Sewald will immediately reclaim the closer role, per Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic. Kevin Ginkel -- who has tallied five saves with a 2.57 ERA in 14 appearances -- will return to a setup role. Rotowire.com Today, 12:39 pm
    • Reds activate TJ Friedl for Tuesday return
Reds activated OF TJ Friedl from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Fantasy managers that held onto Friedl, today is the day. The 28-year-old, who had a breakout season last year with 18 homers and 66 RBI while slashing .279/.352/.467, returns to the Reds’ lineup after being on the injured list since the start of the season. He’ll be a major plus to the Reds’ offense and fantasy managers who have him rostered, but expectations may want to be simmered for at least the first few days as he gets back to major-league speed.
