    • Pops homer in win
Massey went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Massey got the Royals on the board in the seventh inning. The second baseman continues to hit well after a brief stretch to get up to speed following his April 19 season debut. Massey has hit safely in nine straight games and has an extra-base hit in five of the last six contests. He's slashing .294/.308/.529 with three homers, 10 RBI, nine runs scored, three doubles and no stolen bases through 53 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm

Wenceel Pérez (illness) remains out Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: The outfielder was scratched from the lineup Sunday, and he will remain out of the lineup Monday while he recovers. The 24-year-old sits with Parker Meadows getting a start in his absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:18 pm

Cardinals transferred Tommy Edman from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Edman now won’t be eligible to return for the Cardinals until the end of May as he recovers from his wrist injury. Chris Raycroft was selected from Triple-A Memphis with the added roster room. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:14 pm

    • Moves to 60-day IL
The Cardinals transferred Edman (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Edman has been on the IL all season while working his way back from October surgery on his right wrist. The 28-year-old has resumed taking swings from both sides of the plate without incident, but since he has yet to be cleared for full baseball activities, the expectation was that he would still need at least a few more weeks to finish up his rehab program. With that in mind, Edman's move to the 60-day IL doesn't come as surprise, and his potential timeline for a return won't be dramatically affected as a result. He won't be eligible to make his 2024 Cardinals debut until May 24. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:47 pm

    • Out again Monday
Perez (illness) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest in Cleveland.

Advice: Perez was a late scratch ahead of Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees due to an illness, and he'll receive at least one more day of rest. Parker Meadows will get another start in center field in Perez's stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:35 pm

    • Three hits in Saturday's loss
Massey went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Saturday's 15-4 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Massey was a bright spot in the Royals' lopsided loss, extending his hitting streak to seven games in the process. He's gone 10-for-25 (.400) with two home runs, two doubles, seven RBI and six runs scored in that stretch. The second baseman took about a week to get his bat going after recovering from a back injury, but he's stepped up to claim a starting role at the keystone, which has bumped Adam Frazier into a utility role. • Scratched with illness
Perez was scratched from the lineup Sunday against the Yankees due to an illness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Perez was penciled in for his seventh consecutive start but will instead hit the bench due to an illness. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:02 am

    • Wenceel Pérez scratched due to illness
Wenceel Pérez has been scratched from the starting lineup Sunday due to illness.

Advice: Pérez was scheduled to play Sunday against the Yankees, but he’ll instead retreat to the bench. Colt Keith is reinserted into the starting lineup and will play second base against New York. Pérez should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:58 am

    • Increasing baseball activities
Edman (wrist) is slated to take full swings off a tee Saturday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Edman recently progressed to hitting from both sides of the dish after initially being limited to the right side as he recovers from right wrist surgery. He was also seen tracking flyballs during batting practice Friday, per John Denton of MLB.com. Edman still appears far away from a rehab assignment, but the 29-year-old is steadily progressing.
