    • Volpe homers in win over Astros
Anthony Volpe went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Volpe hit a two-run homer off Justin Verlander in the fourth inning that traveled 354 feet and left the bat at 99.6 mph. He also had a 104.6 mph lineout and is starting to see the ball a little bit better after a long cold streak. Coming into the day, Volpe was slashing just .163/.247/.238 over his previous 20 games with just one home run and a 29 percent strikeout rate. It’s pretty clear that the torrid start to the season was just a hot streak, but Volpe still makes quality contact and has been operating as the Yankees’ leadoff hitter, which will continue to boost his fantasy value. He’ll get hot again but also expect some cold streaks mixed in as he continues to fine-tune his approach at the MLB level. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Stott has two hits, steal in win
Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Stott picked up two single to up his triple slash to .245/.339/.377 on the year and also swiped his eighth stolen base. Stott has moved around between second base and shortstop since Trea Turner went down with a hamstring injury, and it’s hard to imagine Stott getting many days off over the next six weeks while Turner is out. The power hasn’t been there this year, but the steals are valuable and Stott should get the opportunity to pick up important counting stats while hitting in a good lineup. • Gerrit Cole throws another bullpen session Tuesday
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Cole is scheduled to throw another bullpen session this weekend and is apparently looking at a mid-June return timetable at this point. The 33-year-old reigning AL Cy Young Award winner should progress to facing hitters at some point in the coming weeks before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. • Luis Arraez not in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Luis Arraez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez takes a seat to open Tuesday’s contest at Wrigley Field with southpaw Shota Imanaga toeing the rubber after starting three consecutive games for San Diego since being acquired over the weekend from the Marlins. The 27-year-old second baseman has five hits and one RBI in 15 at-bats over three contests since being picked up by the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Idle Tuesday
Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Chicago.

Advice: After starting and batting leadoff in each of his first three appearances with the Padres, Arraez will get the day off Tuesday. While it's possible Arraez could cede work against lefties -- the Padres are facing southpaw Shota Imanaga Tuesday -- Arraez was part of the team's lineup Monday against Justin Steele, who's also left-handed. Manny Machado will DH Tuesday while Donovan Solano starts at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • Another bullpen session
Cole (elbow) completed a bullpen session Tuesday and is expected to throw another bullpen this weekend, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Cole is continuing to progress toward returning after throwing off a mound May 4 for the first time since being placed on the injured list in March. He tossed another bullpen session Tuesday without a setback and is expected to continue to ramp up his throwing efforts in the coming weeks. Cole appears to be on track for an early-to-mid-June return. Rotowire.com Today, 1:29 pm

    • Taking seat Tuesday
Realmuto is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Blue Jays.

Advice: It's a rare day off for Realmuto, who has reached base eight times over the last three games. Garrett Stubbs will get a start behind the plate for the Phillies. Rotowire.com Today, 12:07 pm
    • Rays send Pete Fairbanks on rehab assignment
Rays send RHP Pete Fairbanks (nerve issue) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Fairbanks has been sidelined since April 22 after he was placed on the injured list due to a nerve-related condition. He’ll get his first rehab start in Durham since being sidelined and if everything goes to plan, the 30-year-old hurler should be back with Tampa Bay in the next week or so. • Goes deep Monday
Freeman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins in Monday's 6-3 win.

Advice: Though his long ball didn't travel nearly as far, Freeman followed Shohei Ohtani in the first inning Monday as the pair slugged back-to-back homers. Freeman has yet to fully flex his power this season -- he has just three homers through 167 plate appearances -- but he's been otherwise productive, as usual, with a .292/.407/.445 slash line, 21 RBI, 18 runs and a stolen base. The veteran first baseman is also tied for seventh in the league with 10 doubles and tied for fifth with 24 walks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:58 pm
