• Paul Sewald notches 10th save against Twins
Paul Sewald recorded his 10th save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Twins.

Advice: Sewald gave up a two-out double to Byron Buxton, putting the tying run on base. Ryan Jeffers followed with a stinging liner to left, but it was hit right to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., ending the game. Statcast’s xBA, which only takes into account exit velocity and launch angle, said it had a 94% chance of becoming a hit. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:17 pm

  • Signs MiLB deal with Royals
Tinoco signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Tinoco elected to become a free agent after being DFA'd by Texas and clearing waivers last week. He allowed nine earned runs in 10 innings with the Rangers, but the Royals have deemed his 3.72 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in Triple-A worthy of a spot in their Triple-A bullpen. • Elvis Peguero picks up surprise save vs. Rangers
Elvis Peguero pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: Peguero now has two saves on the season and got the nod in the ninth over Trevor Megill. Megill got the night off after picking up the save on Monday. We wouldn’t expect this to become the norm for Peguero. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:43 pm
  • Heaney allows two earned runs in loss to Brewers
Andrew Heaney allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out four in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Heaney scattered two runs across five frames, allowing an RBI single to Jackson Chourio in the third inning and a solo homer to Joey Ortiz in the fifth. The veteran lefty did a nice job of limiting runs but received only one run of support from his offense, as he remains stuck on just two wins for the year. Sitting on a 2-8 record with a 4.17 ERA, Heaney could have a tough time earning that third win on Sunday when he’s set to take on the Orioles in Baltimore. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 pm

  • Brock Stewart (shoulder) draws closer to return
Brock Stewart (shoulder) is scheduled to throw two bullpen sessions this week.

Advice: Stewart has been out since early May due to shoulder tendinitis, but he appears to be creeping closer towards kicking off a rehab assignment. The 32-year-old righty should be ready to rejoin Minnesota’s high-leverage mix at some point next month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:48 pm

  • Following opener Tuesday
Wilson will pitch behind opener Hoby Milner against the Rangers on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Wilson was scheduled to start Tuesday's contest but will instead follow a lefty opener. The right-hander has failed to last five frames in five of his past eight outings, so the strategy could improve his chances of qualifying for a victory. However, Wilson has a 5.68 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB during that eight-start stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:41 pm

  • Royals ink Jesus Tinoco to minor league contract
Royals signed RHP Jesus Tinoco to a minor league contract.

Advice: Tinoco winds up latching on with Kansas City as extra organizational relief depth after electing free agency last week following his removal from the Rangers’ 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty holds an underwhelming 8.10 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 9/7 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (nine appearances) this season. He’ll head to Triple-A Omaha for now. • Serving as opener Tuesday
Rodriguez will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game versus the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Rodriguez has recorded at least five outs in 10 of his 18 appearances, so he should be capable of going at least a couple innings Tuesday. The Giants are opting for a second straight bullpen game after Erik Miller opened Monday's 5-4 win. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm
  • Randy Rodriguez opening for Giants on Tuesday
Randy Rodriguez will start Tuesday’s game against the Cubs.

Advice: Rodriguez will be the opener for Tuesday’s tilt, but won’t be able to get deep enough to qualify for a decision. The 24-year-old is not a streaming option in this role. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:58 am
