• Headed to San Diego
The Marlins traded Arraez to the Padres on Friday in exchange for Dillon Head, Woo-suk Go, Nathan Martorella and Jakob Marsee, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Advice: It's not immediately clear how Arraez will fit into the Padres' lineup, as San Diego already has a strong infield unit that includes Jake Cronenworth, Xander Bogaerts, Ha-Seong Kim and Manny Machado, but it's possible Arraez fills in as the Friars' primary designated hitter. The 27-year-old is slashing .299/.347/.372 across 148 plate appearances so far this season, and his departure from Miami leaves Vidal Brujan as the favorite to take over as the Marlins' main second baseman. • Quantrill gets first win as Rockies’ streak ends
Cal Quantrill fanned nine in 7 2/3 scoreless innings Friday to pick up his first win as the Rockies topped the Pirates 3-2.

Advice: The streak is over; the Rockies had trailed in all 31 games this season until tonight, when they went up 3-0 in the sixth and managed to hang on in spite of a two-run homer in the ninth. Quantrill came into this one with a 5.34 ERA and a 17/14 K/BB ratio in 32 innings. The nine strikeouts are his high total since Aug. 2021. He hadn’t even struck out as many as seven batters since 2022. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Jalen Beeks records sixth career save for Rockies
Despite giving up a homer in two-thirds of an inning, Jalen Beeks picked up his sixth career save Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: The homer was a two-run shot from Oneil Cruz, plating one inherited runner. Beeks got the call tonight because Justin Lawrence is on paternity leave. It’s the fifth straight season in which he’s appeared (he missed 2021 after Tommy John) in which he’s earned a save, but he’s recorded just six total. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Ryan McMahon goes 2-for-5, homers in win
Ryan McMahon went 2-for-5 and hit his fifth homer Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Both hits were against a lefty in Martín Pérez. If McMahon were on a better team, he’d probably be a platoon player at this point, as he was bad against lefties in 2022 and even worse last season. This year, though, he’s batting .350 with two homers in 40 at-bats versus southpaws. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Oneil Cruz hits fourth homer versus Rockies
Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer to provide the only scoring for the Pirates against the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Unfortunately, the Pirates were down three in the ninth at the time. To go along with his 111.7-mph homer, Cruz also had a 111-3 mph line drive, that unfortunately was hit right at the center fielder, and a 103.3-mph groundout. That makes this one of his best nights of the year. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Randy Arozarena blasts mammoth homer as Rays win
Randy Arozarena blasted a 445-foot home run on Friday, helping to power the Rays to a 10-8 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Wearing the Rays’ new city connect uniforms for the first time, the slumping 29-year-old outfielder appeared to be re-energized. He drew a walk in the third inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Jackson. Arozarena then demolished a 1-1 fastball from Dedniel Nunez in the fourth inning, belting his 445-foot (109.1 mph) solo shot. He also walked in the sixth and eighth innings, finishing the night 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. Even with the strong night though, Arozarena is still hitting a pitiful .145/.242/.265 on the season with four homers, 10 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Amed Rosario collects three hits in win over Mets
Amed Rosario had a nice night at the dish in Friday’s victory over the Mets, going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder reached on an infield single to start the second inning and scored the Rays’ first run on a ground out off the bat of Jonny DeLuca. He then smacked an RBI single off of José Quintana in the third inning that gave the Rays a 4-3 lead they would never relinquish. He then came around to score on a two-run single by DeLuca. Rosario has been a bright spot in the Rays’ lineup this season, slashing a healthy .309/.327/.427 with two homers, 15 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 29 games. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Jason Adam closes out Mets on Friday night
Jason Adam picked up his second save of the season on Friday night, despite allowing a run in the ninth inning against the Mets.

Advice: The 32-year-old right-hander came on with a three-run lead to protect, but things got a bit tighter as he surrendered a one-out solo homer to Brett Baty. He also allowed a two-out double to Brandon Nimmo that brought the tying run to the plate, but was able to retire Starling Marte on strikes to end it. He has now converted two of his first three save chances while filling in for the injured Pete Fairbanks. His time in the ninth inning is seemingly coming to a close with Fairbanks expected to return on Tuesday. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Aaron Civale torched for seven runs in no-decision
Aaron Civale was knocked around in a no-decision against the Mets on Friday evening, giving up seven runs on six hits across his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Civale punched out five batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. The Mets got to him for three runs in the second inning on a three-run blast off the bat of Brett Baty. He then settled in and was staked to a 9-3 lead heading into the fifth inning. That’s when the wheels came off the tracks. There, he allowed four more runs and was chased from the game, just one out shy of qualifying for a victory. Civale got 11 swings and misses on 77 pitches on the night, registering a strong CSW of 35 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a disappointing 6.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and a 39/10 K/BB ratio (36 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the White Sox. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
