    • Scratched due to sore elbow
Luzardo has been scratched from Friday's scheduled outing against the Nationals due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: Luzardo felt soreness in his pitching elbow Thursday and is set to undergo further testing. It's yet another blow to a Marlins pitching staff that's sustained plenty of them early on this season. Anthony Maldonado will be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to work as the opener Friday in a bullpen game for Miami. Luzardo has had an uneven 2024 season, collecting a 6.58 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB over 26 innings covering his first five starts. Rotowire.com Today, 7:26 am

    • Jesús Luzardo (elbow) scratched from Friday start
Jesús Luzardo (elbow) was scratched from Friday’s start against the Nationals.

Advice: Not good. The team said Luzardo will undergo testing for discomfort to his elbow and this more than likely means the 26-year-old will be placed on the injured list in the near future. This adds to the multitude of injuries for Miami’s pitching rotation, with the likes of Sandy Alcantara and Eury Perez both out for the season and Braxton Garrett already on the injured list. • Fans seven in no-decision
Keller allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over five frames in a no-decision against the Brewers on Thursday while striking out seven.

Advice: Keller got off to a rocky start, surrendering a solo home run to William Contreras in the second at-bat of the game. Back-to-back walks to open the frame and some shaky defense behind him then led to two more runs in the third. The right-hander failed to make it through six innings for the first time in his last four starts while allowing four earned runs for the fourth time this season. On a positive note, Keller did record his second-highest strikeout total of the campaign with seven. Rotowire.com Today, 3:51 am
    • Perfect for save No. 3
Munoz pitched a perfect ninth inning against the Rangers to earn a save.

Advice: Munoz picked up his first save since April 6, making quick work of Wyatt Langford, Travis Jankowski and Jonah Heim to close out the Mariners' win. He's now 3-for-4 in save chances this season and Thursday's outing could give him more leeway with Ryne Stanek breathing down his back for save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:45 pm
    • Zack Wheeler stymies Reds in win
Zack Wheeler threw six shutout innings in a 5-0 win over the Reds, allowing just one hit while striking out eight.

Advice: Wheeler did walk four batters on the day but he also posted an impressive 36 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW. He beat the Reds with heat today, getting the most whiffs on both his four-seamer and sinker, and got only a 17 percent chase rate. Basically, he came at the Reds in the zone and they weren’t able to handle it on Thursday. The effort lowered his season ERA to 1.93 and he’ll look to keep it going in a much easier matchup against the Angels next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:17 pm
    • Trea Turner has three hits in win
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with a double in a win over the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Turner hit the ball well on Thursday, with five batted balls that were at least 96.7 mph. It continues a strong start to the season for the shortstop, who’s slashing .336/.388/.477 on the year with two home runs and six steals. As Bryce Harper continues to heat up, he should rack up far more runs scored as well. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:14 pm

    • Andrés Muñoz hurls scoreless ninth for save
Andrés Muñoz fired a scoreless ninth to preserve a win for the Mariners on Thursday while picking up a save.

Advice: Muñoz needed just eight pitches to get through the inning, as the Rangers were aggressive against the 25-year-old. It’s the third save of the season for the right-hander, and he lowers his ERA to a solid 2.89 with the scoreless frame. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
    • Keller inconsistent in no-decision against MIL
Mitch Keller allowed four runs on six hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: It wasn’t all bad for Keller, who had seven strikeouts and two walks while posting a 21 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. He allowed only two extra-base hits on the day, but one of them was a solo home run and Keller’s fastball got hit hard throughout the day, allowing an average exit velocity of 98.1 mph. He had just five whiffs on 23 swings on the fastball and didn’t get a single whiff on either his sweeper or curve, so it was really his cutter doing all the lifting today. That’s not a recipe for success, and the right-hander will now carry a 5.14 ERA into a showdown against the A’s next week. If you’re not going to start him then (you should in most leagues) then he shouldn’t be on your roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm
    • Second straight one-hitter
Wheeler (2-3) earned the win Thursday against the Reds, allowing one hit and four walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Wheeler's allowed just one hit in consecutive starts, as he's held opponents scoreless in 13.1 straight innings, posting 16 strikeouts in that span. The 33-year-old right-hander has arguably been the top fantasy starting option early in the season -- he lowered his ERA to 1.93 with a 0.88 WHIP and 46:11 K:BB through six starts (37.1 innings). Wheeler will look to keep rolling in his next outing, tentatively scheduled as a road matchup early next week against the Angels. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:03 pm
