    • On bench again
Cabrera is out of the Yankees' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Cabrera will be available off the bench for a second straight game after making 22 straight starts at third base. Jon Berti will man the hot corner and bat ninth against Houston. Rotowire.com Today, 11:51 am

    • Tommy Edman (wrist) moved to 60-day IL
Cardinals transferred Tommy Edman from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Edman now won’t be eligible to return for the Cardinals until the end of May as he recovers from his wrist injury. Chris Raycroft was selected from Triple-A Memphis with the added roster room. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:14 pm

    • Moves to 60-day IL
The Cardinals transferred Edman (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Edman has been on the IL all season while working his way back from October surgery on his right wrist. The 28-year-old has resumed taking swings from both sides of the plate without incident, but since he has yet to be cleared for full baseball activities, the expectation was that he would still need at least a few more weeks to finish up his rehab program. With that in mind, Edman's move to the 60-day IL doesn't come as surprise, and his potential timeline for a return won't be dramatically affected as a result. He won't be eligible to make his 2024 Cardinals debut until May 24. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:47 pm

    • Ezequiel Tovar gets first day off of season
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the lineup to begin Sunday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: For the first time in 2024, Tovar will get a day off. The shortstop will at least begin Sunday’s finale on the bench with Alan Trejo handling his duties. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:54 am

    • Receiving first day off
Tovar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Tovar will take a seat for the first time all season after starting in each of Colorado's first 33 games, enabling Alan Trejo to enter the lineup at shortstop. The Rockies are likely hoping that a day on the bench will be helpful for Tovar as he looks to break out of his recent funk at the plate; over his last nine games, he's slashing .128/.171/.154 with a 39 percent strikeout rate. • Turner expects to miss six-plus weeks with injury
Trea Turner told reporters that he expects to miss at least six weeks with his hamstring injury.

Advice: Turner told reporters that anything prior to a six-week return would “be a win.” It’s a significant blow for both fantasy managers and the Phillies — and Turner himself, of course — as the shortstop was once again playing at an elite level. Edmundo Sosa should see most of the reps at shortstop while Turner is out, but he’s a far cry from the player that Turner is. Rotoworld Saturday, 12:18 pm

    • Out at least six weeks
Turner (hamstring) said Saturday that he expects to miss at least six weeks with his left hamstring strain and that a return sooner than that "would be a win," Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Turner strained his left hamstring Friday against the Cubs, and he was placed on the 10-day injured list a day later. It's a big blow for the Phillies, as Turner has been one of their most productive players at the plate this season with an .852 OPS, second on the team behind Alec Bohm. Six weeks would take Turner to a potential return in mid-June, though the star shortstop could be out until July depending on how he progresses in his rehab. Philadelphia appears set to turn to Edmundo Sosa as the primary shortstop with Turner on the shelf, and Bryson Stott could perhaps shift over from second base on occasion, though Stott hasn't made an appearance at shortstop since 2022. • Headed to IL
The Phillies placed Turner on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Turner left before the fifth inning of Friday's game against the Cubs after straining his left hamstring running bases in the fourth frame. The 30-year-old shortstop was off to a hot start this season, slashing .343/.392/.460 with 10 doubles, 10 stolen bases, two home runs and nine RBI over 148 plate appearances. Edmundo Sosa is slated to take over as the primary shortstop while Turner recovers from his injury. The Phillies recalled infielder Kody Clemens from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. • Turner heads to 10-day IL with hamstring injury
Phillies placed INF Trea Turner on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Turner was removed from Friday’s game against the Giants with soreness in his hamstring, and the Phillies will be without the 30-year-old shortstop for the next week-plus — likely longer. Kody Clemens is up as the corresponding transaction. Edmundo Sosa will likely see most of the reps at shortstop while Turner recovers. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:49 am
