    • Trea Turner tallies two hits on Monday in return
Trea Turner went 2-for-5 with a run scored on Monday in his return to the Phillies lineup.

Advice: Turner made an instant impact on Monday in his return to Philadelphia’s lineup following a six-week absence recovering from a left hamstring strain. The 30-year-old speedster’s stolen base totals may take a temporary hit as the Phillies keep a bit of a governor on his running for now, but his return is a much-needed lift for fantasy managers as injuries continue to pile up league-wide. • Will Smith moves into second spot in Dodger lineup
The Dodgers have Will Smith batting second in between Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman Monday in their first game since losing Mookie Betts.

Advice: Manager Dave Roberts indicated last night that Ohtani would lead off, but Smith jumping ahead of Freeman is a little bit of a surprise. It does make sense, particularly since it allows the Dodgers to go lefty-righty-lefty-righty at the top. Teoscar Hernández, as expected, is in the cleanup spot that’s typically been manned by Smith. • Reds’ Christian Encarnacion-Strand to 60-day IL
Reds transferred 3B Christian Encarnacion-Strand from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: There still hasn’t been any word on whether CES will opt for season-ending surgery on his right hand. This officially rules him out until July 7, but there was no chance of him returning prior to the break anyway. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm
    • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Reds transferred Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand had been on the IL since May 8 with a right ulnar styloid fracture and wasn't expected to begin a rehab assignment anytime soon, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his eventual timeline for a return. According to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, manager David Bell reiterated Monday that Encarnacion-Strand remains in a bit of a holding pattern in his recovery from the injury. After he had been expected to increase his activity earlier this month, Encarnacion-Strand's rehab progression was put on pause when he sought a second opinion on his wrist from a specialist, who determined that the 24-year-old was dealing with ligament damage. Bell said that the Reds will wait a few more days to see how Encarnacion-Strand's wrist responds to rest before a determination is made on his next step, which could include anything from resuming baseball activities to going under the knife for season-ending surgery. • Back from injured list
The Phillies activated Turner (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at shortstop and bat second in his return to the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Padres.

Advice: Turner rejoins the first-place Phillies following a six-week absence with a strained left hamstring. He didn't go out on a rehab assignment prior to being activated, so it's possible Turner will get some extra off days mixed in as he returns to action. Edmundo Sosa performed well as Turner's main replacement at shortstop and will most likely return to a bench role, though the Phillies have discussed the possibility of getting Sosa some reps in the outfield. • Trea Turner officially back from the IL
Phillies activated SS Trea Turner from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The move was reported on Sunday and is now official. Turner didn’t make any rehab appearances but should be slotted back into lineups to make use of his full week of production. He may not steal as many bases right away in the aftermath of the hamstring injury, but hopefully that speed production will tick back up in the weeks ahead. Johan Rojas was sent to the minors in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:58 am

    • Battling stiff back
Luzardo said that he pitched through a stiff back in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Nationals, Bally Sports Florida reports.

Advice: The southpaw got the hook after gutting out five innings and 77 pitches, but Luzardo clearly didn't have his best stuff, and his velocity was down about two miles per hour. The Marlins haven't provided any indication that he will miss his next turn in the rotation, which lines up to come Saturday against the Mariners. A determination on Luzardo's status for that contest may not be made official until later in the week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:42 am

    • Hitting streak ends
Tovar went 0-for-4 Sunday against the Pirates.

Advice: Tovar went hitless for the first time in his last eight starts, and in that span, he hit .393 with three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored. That stretch helped him continue to build on an impressive breakout season, as he's hitting .290 with a .809 OPS to go along with 11 homers and four stolen bases across 70 contests. • Gives up run in non-save situation
Hader allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out two in the ninth inning Sunday against the Tigers.

Advice: Hader entered the game with the Astros up 4-0 and allowed consecutive hits with one out to surrender the earned run. He's given up at least one earned run in three of his last 10 appearances, though he has maintained 14:1 K:BB across 9.2 innings in that span. Though not primarily his fault, Hader has not tallied a save since June 3. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:52 am
