    • Allows two runs in no-decision
Littell did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings against the Twins. He struck out five.

Advice: Thursday represented a return to form for Littell, who held the Twins to single tallies in each of the second and third innings. Littell had posted a 7.71 ERA and 2.07 WHIP with four homers given up across three starts in June entering Thursday, including a season-worst six earned runs allowed in just two frames during his previous start. Although he was touched up for a homer for the seventh consecutive outing, it was also the first time in five starts he didn't allow at least three earned runs. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup with the Mariners next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:28 pm

    • Zack Littell allows two in no-decision vs. Twins
Zack Littell allowed two runs in five innings without qualifying for a decision Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: Littell bounced back nicely from his disaster against Atlanta (two innings, six earned runs), but wasn’t able to get enough run support to factor in the decision. The right-hander scattered five hits and two walks while fanning five. One of the runs was a homer by the red-hot Royce Lewis, and the other a double off the bat of Kyle Farmer. Littell has mostly been solid as a starting option, and he’s scheduled to work again next week against the Mariners. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:28 pm

    • Locks down 16th save
Bednar earned the save Wednesday against the Reds, pitching a perfect ninth inning to seal a 1-0 victory.

Advice: It's the second straight hitless appearance from Bednar after he allowed home runs in each of his previous two outings. Still, the right-hander has been solid of late following a rocky start to the campaign, allowing just three runs in his last 17.1 innings. Overall, Bednar's converted 16 of 19 save opportunities this year while pitching to a 5.17 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB across 31.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:52 pm

    • David Bednar works perfect frame for 16th save
David Bednar hurled a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Reds to record his 16th save of the season.

Advice: Bednar got the call to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and needed just 11 pitches (eight strikes) to set down the heart of Cincinnati’s lineup. He got Elly De La Cruz to pop up and Spencer Steer to fly out before coaxing a game-ending fly out from Jake Fraley to slam the door. The 29-year-old righty has recorded saves on back-to-back days against the Reds after suffering a blown save last Friday against the Rockies in his previous appearance. • Locks down seventh save
Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over San Francisco, firing a scoreless inning during which he allowed one hit.

Advice: After an RBI double by Pete Alonso provided New York with the lead in the top of the ninth inning, Diaz entered in the bottom of the frame to gather his second save since returning from the injured list June 13. The flamethrowing closer yielded a leadoff single to Jonah Heim before inducing a groundball double play and flyout for his seventh save this season. After struggling with an 8.68 ERA over 9.1 innings in May, Diaz looks healthy again and has regained control of the Mets' closer role. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:58 pm
    • Edwin Díaz works scoreless ninth for save
Edwin Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth with a one-run lead for his seventh save Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: The ninth started with a bloop single that third baseman Mark Vientos probably should have caught in shallow left, but it appeared he got spooked by Brandon Nimmo’s arrival. Fortunately, the ball was hit by Johan Heim, who settled for a single when an average runner might have gotten a double. A double play followed, and Díaz then got a flyout to end the game. • Records 15th save
Bednar pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save against the Reds in Monday's 4-1 win.

Advice: After serving up homers in each of his last two appearances, Bednar got back on track with a clean frame Monday. Bednar had a disastrous start to the season with 14 earned runs allowed in his first 13 outings, but he's turned it around with a 1.88 ERA over his last 19.1 innings. Despite the 5.34 ERA for the season, Bednar remains one of the better late-inning options, as his 15 saves are tied for eighth most in the majors. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:55 pm

    • David Bednar silences Reds to notch 15th save
David Bednar tossed a perfect frame on Monday against the Reds to record his 15th save of the season.

Advice: Bednar was summoned to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 11 pitches (eight strikes) to spin a flawless frame. It was a nice rebound effort for the 29-year-old stopper after giving up solo homers in each of his previous two appearances. He’s converted 15 of his 18 save opportunities on the year. • Secures sixth save
Diaz gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his sixth save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Padres.

Advice: A leadoff single by Jurickson Profar and a stolen base by pinch runner Jose Azocar created another nervous ninth for the Mets, but Diaz buckled down after that and fanned Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth to preserve the win. Diaz's velocity appears to be all the way back -- his fastest pitch Friday hit 100 mph -- and he's looked to be in just about peak form in two appearances since recovering from a shoulder impingement. The 30-year-old right-hander is just 6-for-10 in converting save chances in 2024, but as long as he's healthy he should be locked in as the Mets' closer. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:52 am
