    • David Daniel to start Thursday for Angels
Davis Daniel was scratched from his Triple-A start and will pitch for the angels on Thursday.

Advice: The Angels are down bad in the rotation at the moment, so the 27-year-old Daniel will slot in tomorrow. The right-hander has a 5.33 ERA in 14 starts for Salt Lake, but that’s largely the product of a .378 BABIP. He’s struck out 82, walked 25 and allowed just five homers in 76 innings. • Removed from 40-man roster
The Rangers designated Rodriguez for assignment Wednesday.

Advice: Rodriguez was the add man out after the Rangers needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster. He turned in a 6.88 ERA and 1.59 WHIP over 17 innings during his time in the majors this season and stands a good chance of clearing waivers. Rotowire.com Today, 9:24 am
    • Shifted to 60-day IL
The Rangers transferred Winn (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Advice: Winn was placed on the 15-day IL earlier this week with what was referred to as right shoulder discomfort, but the Rangers are now classifying the injury as a sprained shoulder capsule. The expectation is that he will be sidelined for eight weeks, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Rotowire.com Today, 9:21 am

    • Cole Winn moved to 60-day IL by Rangers
Rangers transferred RHP Cole Winn from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list due to a right shoulder sprain.

Advice: Winn complained of shoulder soreness after being sent down to Triple-A last week, causing the Rangers to void his option and put him on the major league IL. He’ll miss at least two months now. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 am

    • Rangers designate Yerry Rodríguez for assignment
Rangers designated RHP Yerry Rodríguez for assignment.

Advice: Rodríguez, 26, looked like he might turn into a quality reliever a couple of years ago, but he has a 7.11 ERA and a 28/17 K/BB in 31 2/3 innings for the Rangers since making his major league debut in 2022, and his minor league numbers haven’t been very good, either. With his velocity having declined some, it’s possible he’ll clear waivers. Still, since he can be stashed in Triple-A, it seems more likely that a rebuilding club will give him a look. • Up as 27th man
The Cardinals recalled Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: He will serve as the team's 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader against Atlanta. Roycroft has collected a 3.07 ERA and 13:8 K:BB over 14.2 relief innings with the Cardinals this season. He'll likely be sent back down to Triple-A following the doubleheader. • Josiah Gray sharp on Tuesday in rehab outing
Josiah Gray (elbow) allowed one run over six innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Rochester.

Advice: Gray struck out four, didn’t hand out a free pass, and got up to around 90 pitches in his latest rehab outing. The 26-year-old righty should be ready to return to Washington’s starting rotation at some point later this week or early next week. He’s been on the shelf since early April due to a flexor strain in his right elbow. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:31 pm

    • Gregory Santos (lat) nears rehab assignment
Gregory Santos (lat) is slated to throw a live batting practice session on Friday.

Advice: Santos is expected to head out on a minor league rehab assignment shortly afterwards, assuming he gets through Friday’s session without any issues. The 24-year-old high-leverage specialist has been on the shelf since spring training due to a lat issue. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

    • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Brewers transferred Gasser (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gasser will be out for the rest of the season and most of the 2025 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery Monday, so his move to the 60-day IL is hardly a surprise. He'll give up his 40-man roster spot to right-hander Joel Kuhnel, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:35 pm
