    • Drops second straight start
Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss against the Angels on Monday, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Rodriguez's second big-league outing went about as poorly as his first -- he gave up two fewer hits but twice as many earned runs while failing to complete five frames. The right-hander did make it through two innings unscathed but was stung by a three-run third before serving up a two-run homer in the fourth. Rodriguez has given up six earned runs across 8.1 frames over his two starts, and he could be pushed back to the minors if Jakob Junis (shoulder) returns to the big club this week, as expected. • Logs 13th save Monday
Estevez earned a save against the Brewers on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Estevez had little trouble protecting a two-run, ninth-inning lead, retiring the side in order on 13 pitches. The veteran reliever has turned things around after a rough middle portion of May -- he hasn't allowed a baserunner in seven straight outings, racking up six saves and a win during that span. As such, his hold on the Angels' closer role is, for now at least, very secure. Rotowire.com Today, 12:09 am
    • Earns win in team debut
Plesac (1-0) earned the win in Monday's 5-3 victory over Milwaukee, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out one batter over six innings.

Advice: Plesac was called upon for an emergency start after projected starter Jose Soriano was unable to pitch due to an abdominal issue. Plesac did quite well considering the circumstances, squeaking by with a quality start and a victory in his first game as an Angel. He gave up two home runs and notched just one punchout, with the latter number serving as a reminder of one of Plesac's biggest flaws -- he's never never posted higher than a 6.8 K/9 in a full big-league season. If Soriano misses additional time, Plesac could get at least one more turn in the rotation, though he isn't likely to be a popular waiver-wire target in fantasy circles. • Racks up three hits from atop order
Ohtani went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk Monday in a 9-5 victory versus the Rockies.

Advice: With Mookie Betts (hand) set to miss several weeks, Ohtani could see most of his work out of the leadoff spot -- he's now slotted in there for both games that Betts has missed so far this season. Ohtani certainly possesses qualities of a leadoff man with a .314 average, .388 OBP and 16 thefts on the campaign, though his power far exceeds what is usually expected from a batter in that role. Ohtani could lose some RBI opportunities with Betts not hitting ahead of him for the foreseeable future, but the Japanese superstar is more than capable of knocking himself in and should continue to get opportunities to score with Will Smith and Freddie Freeman batting behind him. • Snags win Monday
Miller (2-2) allowed three runs on two hits and a walk over 1.1 innings, earning the win Monday over the Cubs. He did not record a strikeout.

Advice: Miller allowed an inherited runner to score in the seventh inning on a Seiya Suzuki double, and Ian Happ followed that up with a three-run blast. That would have left Miller in line for the loss, but he pitched a scoreless eighth, and the Giants' offense rallied for the lead in the ninth. The southpaw has allowed six runs (four earned) over his last four appearances, one of which was an opener assignment Sunday versus the Angels. He's at a 4.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB with 10 holds and three blown saves over 34 innings. Miller is a versatile reliever, though his grip on a part-time setup role was tenuous even before his recent struggles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm

    • Picks up extra-innings win
Kittredge (1-3) allowed two unearned runs on one hit over two innings, earning the win over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Kittredge allowed a run in each of the 11th and 12th innings, but the Cardinals were able to establish a two-run lead in the 12th. Through 10 innings in June, Kittredge has allowed six runs (four earned) with an 8:3 K:BB. The right-hander is at a 3.27 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB with one save, 19 holds and four blown saves through 33 innings in a high-leverage role this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:04 pm
    • Zach Plesac picks up victory in return to majors
Zach Plesac delivered a quality start in his return to the majors Monday, yielding three runs in six innings in a victory over the Brewers.

Advice: Plesac, an emergency starter because of José Soriano’s abdominal issue, succeeded while averaging just 89.9 mph with his fastball, striking out only one batter and giving up two homers tonight. The Angels might try to make it happen again, but fantasy leaguers should stay far away. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:01 pm

    • Carlos Estévez perfect in seventh straight outing
Carlos Estévez threw a scoreless ninth with a two-run lead for a save Monday against the Brewers.

Advice: It was Estévez’s seventh consecutive perfect inning, a stretch that’s lowered his ERA from 5.06 to 3.52. He still doesn’t seem like a great bet going forward, but he certainly has it working now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:01 pm
    • Set to start Monday
Plesac will draw the start Monday versus the Brewers.

Advice: Plesac will replace Jose Soriano (abdomen) on the mound after Soriano was a late scratch with lower abdominal pain Monday. Plesac had his contract selected by Los Angeles on Monday and he'll now get his first chance to start a major-league contest in 2024. The right-hander has produced a 5.42 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 51 strikeouts over 74.2 innings in 13 starts with Triple-A Salt Lake this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:30 pm
