    • Blasts 31st homer
Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Advice: Judge helped New York get off to a fast start with a 423-foot, two-run shot to center field in the first inning. He added a single later in the contest to notch his third straight multi-hit game, and the slugger has gone 7-for-12 with five RBI during that stretch. Judge had a monstrous June overall, slashing .409/.514/.864 with 11 home runs, 37 RBI, 25 runs and three stolen bases over 25 games. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Blake: Rodón working to adjust gameplan
Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake said Carlos Rodón is working to adjust his approach as team’s key on hitting his fastball.

Advice: Speaking to The Athletic, Matt Blake said he doesn’t have long-term concerns with Rodón despite the left-hander allowing 20 earned runs and a 1.253 OPS in his last three outings. “I think it’s being ready to adapt your plan early because it’s clear that teams that can hit the fastball are targeting him early,” Blake said. “There are more guys like him who throw the ball hard with good profiles and... there’s just less room for error with that stuff. Even if that’s how you got paid, that’s not necessarily your map for success down the road. The more we can adjust and adapt to the league and the sooner we can do that, the easier it is...You’re not asking him to be crafty, but you’ve got to have a better rhythm than that.” Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
    • Justin Verlander has started playing catch
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Justin Verlander (neck) has resumed playing catch.

Advice: The 41-year-old has been on the injured list since the middle of June with a neck issue, and the Astros have been tight-lipped about his recovery. According to The Athletic’s Chandler Rome, “Verlander has deferred all questions to the team, which remains insistent this injury is just a neck issue,” but the team has said that he’ll need a prolonged buildup and then at least one rehab start, which means a return before the All-Star break feels unlikely. • Tagged with six runs
Anderson (7-8) yielded six runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Tigers.

Advice: Anderson gave up one run through three innings before the Tigers plated three runs in the fourth. He was charged with two more when Carson Kelly drilled a three-run homer off Andrew Wantz in the fifth. It was the most runs allowed by Anderson this season and his ERA jumped from 2.63 to 3.03 through 104 frames. He went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA in six June outings. Anderson's next start is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 am
    • Returns as DH
Candelario started at designated hitter and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Candelario sat out four consecutive games due to a hamstring injury before returning Sunday. Once he's ready to play the field, it won't be as the club's primary third baseman. While Candelario was out, Noelvi Marte was reinstated from a suspension and became the regular starter at third base. That means Candelario will move to either DH or first base. • Three hits Sunday
O'Hearn went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 11-2 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: O'Hearn got a rare start versus lefty Andrew Heaney on Sunday and came through with three base hits when most of the lineup was held in check. Heading into Sunday's game, O'Hearn was just 2-for-15 against southpaws for the season but he got the start with Ryan Mountcastle unable to go due to an illness. He's now reached safely in 13 consecutive games to close out June and is slashing .285/.347/.461 with 10 homers, 34 RBI, 31 runs and a 22:25 BB:K in 251 plate appearances this season. • Scores twice Sunday
Bregman went 1-for-5 with a double and two runs scored Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Bregman led off the fourth inning with a double and came around to score, accounting for most of his production. Though his season-long numbers remain fairly unimpressive, Bregman did have a productive June by hitting .310 with two homers, 11 RBI and 19 runs scored in 25 games. • Knocks three hits
Ramos went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and one RBI in Sunday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Ramos knocked an RBI double and scored a run in the fourth inning before doubling and scoring again in the eighth. The 24-year-old outfielder has cooled off a bit in the second half of the month, going just 10-for-50 (.200) over his last 12 games. Still, he finishes June with 14 extra-base hits while hitting .304 (34-for-112) across 27 games. Ramos is now slashing .294/.368/.508 with 37 RBI and 20 extra-base hits through 48 games. • Finishes single short of cycle
Paredes went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, a double and an additional run scored Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Paredes entered the day with just two hits over his last 23 at-bats but broke out of it in a big way with his first three-hit game since May 21. He did all his damage off Nationals starter Patrick Corbin, going 3-for-3 against the lefty. Despite the recent slump, Paredes maintains a healthy .276/.361/.472 slash line on the season with 13 home runs, 43 RBI, 32 runs and 32 walks over 328 plate appearances.
