    • Making progress with knee
Buxton (knee) has been running in a pool and participating in his normal workouts, but has not been swinging a bat, Dan Hayes of the TheAthletic.com reports.

Advice: An MRI on Buxton's injured right knee Thursday showed only inflammation and no structural damage. Buxton is optimistic he can return when eligible to come off the IL on May 12. However, the Twins may want to wait two more days until the Twins return from Toronto so he can avoid the AstroTurf of the Rogers Centre. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

    • Robert Suarez notches five-out save against Cubs
Robert Suarez recorded a five-out save on Monday against the Cubs.

Advice: Suarez was tasked with protecting a three-run lead upon entering the eighth inning of Monday’s series opener at Wrigley Field for his first appearance since last Wednesday. The hard-throwing 33-year-old righty struck out Yan Gomes and retired Nico Hoerner to extinguish a bases-loaded threat in the eighth before coming back out to toss a perfect final frame. He’s converted all 11 of his save opportunities this season to go along with a microscopic 0.59 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 14/4 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 innings (14 appearances). Rotoworld 48 minutes ago
    • Headed to Triple-A
The Tigers informed Meadows after Monday's game against the Guardians that he'll be optioned to Triple-A Toledo, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Meadows has seen only three at-bats in May after going 6-for-60 over 25 games in April, and Detroit has finally seen enough. Ryan Vilade is expected to be recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 8:30 pm

    • Report: Parker Meadows heading to AAA on Tuesday
Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Tigers are expected to option Parker Meadows to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Meadows, 24, picked up just seven hits in 73 at-bats while with the Tigers with 32 strikeouts in that timeframe. The outfielder will get work in Triple-A with Ryan Vilade expected to receive a promotion in the corresponding transaction. Rotoworld Today, 8:28 pm

    • Converts five-out save
Suarez struck out three batters over 1.2 perfect frames and earned a save over the Cubs on Monday.

Advice: Suarez was called into a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the eighth inning and quickly steamrolled the Cubs in order to finish off the game. He matched his longest outing of the year while firing 14 of 20 pitches for strikes. Suarez has been nearly perfect this season; he's 1-0 with a 0.59 ERA while converting each of his 11 save chances. The 33-year-old is currently riding a 13-inning scoreless streak. Rotowire.com Today, 8:27 pm
    • Bryse Wilson throws six scoreless innings in no-decision
Bryse Wilson didn’t allow a run and stuck out six batters in six innings of work against the Royals on Monday.

Advice: Impressive. Prior to April 17, Wilson hadn’t made a start in the majors since September 2022. Since then, the 26-year-old has made four starts for Milwaukee and has allowed three total runs in those 20 innings. As a reliever? He’s allowed five earned runs across 10 innings this season. The move seems to be the right one for Milwaukee, however they’ll need to give him some run support if he’s to pick up some wins. Wilson now has a 1.35 ERA, 0.95 WHIP with a 10/1 K/BB ratio as a starter this season. Rotoworld Today, 8:21 pm

    • Picks up save Monday
Thielbar struck out two batters in a scoreless inning and earned a save over the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Thielbar faced the heart of Seattle's lineup after Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect eighth inning. It was Thielbar's third save of the year and first since April 29. He lowered his ERA to 6.14 with a 9:3 K:BB through 7.1 innings. Duran should still see most of the save chances in Minnesota but the team may elect for more of a committee approach for now. • Dominates against Mariners
Woods Richardson allowed a hit and a walk over six shutout frames in a no-decision Monday. He struck out eight during the win over Seattle.

Advice: Woods Richardson struck out the first four batters he faced and five of the first six through two perfect frames. Only one Mariner reached scoring position against him as he turned in the best outing of his MLB career. The 23-year-old righty generated 10 whiffs, matching his season high. Wood Richardson dropped his ERA to 1.74 with a 21:5 K:BB through 20.2 frames. His next start is projected to be this weekend in Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 7:48 pm
    • Shelled in season debut
Clevinger (0-1) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and four walks over two innings against Tampa Bay. He had no strikeouts.

Advice: Clevinger looked rough in his season debut Monday against the Rays, generating just one whiff from his 54 pitches. It was the second time he has failed to generate a strikeout in a start during his eight-year career -- first done Sept. 24, 2023 against Boston. Clevinger's next start is scheduled against his former team, Cleveland, at home this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 7:42 pm
