• Dylan Moore homers twice as Mariners down Yankees
Dylan Moore went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Yankees.

Advice: Moore pulled a pitch on the outside black of the plate 402 feet to left field for a two-run homer to give the Mariners a lead in the top of the third. He would later single in the seventh inning to drive in Mitch Garver and homered again in the ninth, accounting for four of the Mariners’ six runs driven in on the afternoon. Moore hasn’t hit for much of an average but has provided solid power and run support at the bottom of the Mariners’ lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm

  • Corey Julks tallies one steal, two RBI vs. Jays
Corey Julks went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a steal in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Julks laced a two-RBI single in the fifth inning off Yusei Kikuchi to give the White Sox a 3-0 lead, and has now hit safely in three of his first four games this season. Julks was called up from Triple-A Charlotte last week after the White Sox acquired him in a trade just days before. Julks has now homered and driven in three runs, and should continue getting opportunities as long as he stays hot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm
  • Jarren Duran homers, steals home vs. Rays
Jarren Duran went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Rays.

Advice: Duran hit his third homer of the season in the sixth inning to tie the game at 2-2. In the top of the eighth inning, Durran caught the defense sleeping when he stole home after Rays catcher Ben Rortvedt threw down to second to try and catch Rafael Devers stealing. The Red Sox left fielder has now hit safely in seven straight games and is hitting .278 in the month of May.

  • Called up and starting
Hill had his contract selected from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. He's batting eighth and playing right field against the Phillies.

Advice: Hill will fill a depth role in the outfield for the Rangers, taking the roster spot of pitcher Austin Pruitt (knee) who was moved to the 60-day injured list. With Adolis Garcia (forearm) banged up and sitting Tuesday, Hill will slot into the starting lineup for his 2024 debut. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:39 pm
  • Activated Tuesday
McCormick (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: McCormick has missed all of May with hamstring soreness, but he'll return to the active roster after a six-game rehab stint. The 29-year-old went 5-for-23 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base in the minors. While McCormick should end up as the Astros' starting left fielder, he's likely to split time with Joey Loperfido and could see more DH work considering the fragility of a hamstring injury. • Rangers select contract of Derek Hill from AAA
Rangers selected the contract of OF Derek Hill from Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Hill is added to the 40-man and active roster by the Rangers after hitting .333 with a 1.086 OPS, eight homers and six stolen bases in the Pacific Coast League. A former first-round pick, Hill will likely only be a bench option while he’s with Texas. Davis Wendzel was sent down to Round Rock in a previous corresponding transaction. • Astros active Chas McCormick (hamstring) off IL
Astros activated OF Chas McCormick off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Trey Cabbage was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. McCormick missed three weeks with his right hamstring strain. The outfielder should get a chance to play, but Houston does have a bit of an outfield jam with Joey Loperfido and Jake Meyers also likely to see time for Houston. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:06 pm
  • Batting leadoff Tuesday
Hurtubise is starting in left field and batting leadoff in Tuesday's game versus the Padres.

Advice: It's Hurtubise's fourth start in eight games since being recalled and the first time in those starts that he didn't bat ninth. With Jonathan India and Will Benson struggling and TJ Friedl (thumb) hurt again, the Reds are looking for someone to establish themselves at the leadoff spot. The odds would seem to be against Hurtubise being that guy, but he did show good on-base skills in the minors with a .434 OBP. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:44 am
  • Knocks in two runs Monday
Fry went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and two RBI in Monday's 3-1 win against the Mets.

Advice: Fry plated two of Cleveland's three runs with a single in the first inning. He has been swinging a hot bat in May, slashing .353/.488/.647 with three homers, seven RBI and 10 runs along with an 8:8 BB:K over 43 plate appearances. Fry also has a stolen base in each of his past two games after swiping just one bag across his first 30 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:08 am
