    • Ends power drought Monday
Springer went 2-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Monday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: The veteran outfielder opened the scoring in the second inning when he lifted a first-pitch fastball from Nick Nastrini over the fence in left field. Springer snapped a 22-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch in which he slashed a woeful .136/.191/.173. He hasn't failed to hit 20 home runs in a full season since 2015, but the 34-year-old has his work cut out for him this summer to reach that mark again -- Springer has only four long balls through Toronto's first 53 games. • Drives in run in return
Murphy went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Seeing his first MLB action since Opening Day, Murphy hit fifth in the order and brought home Marcell Ozuna with a groundout in the seventh inning. With Ronald Acuna (knee) lost for the season, Atlanta needs Murphy to quickly regain the form that saw him set career highs with 21 homers and an .843 OPS in 2023. • Swipes another pair of bags Monday
Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a run and two stolen bases in Monday's 3-2 victory over Houston.

Advice: Rodriguez scored Seattle's second run in the first inning and padded his stat line with a pair of steals in the seventh. The star outfielder has four thefts over his past two contests following a 16-game stretch without any steals from May 9 to May 25. Though he's been pretty quiet with a .265/.309/.342 slash line on the season, Rodriguez has built some momentum in going 6-for-13 with two homers, five RBI, four runs and four stolen bases over his past three games. • Racks up three hits
Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 11-3 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Mountcastle has hit safely in his last six games, going 11-for-25 (.440) in that span. During the streak, he has a double in four of those six games, though he's added just two RBI and has not hit a home run since May 8. Nonetheless, the first baseman is putting together a strong campaign with a .280/.317/.468 slash line, six homers, 20 RBI, 28 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and two stolen bases over 47 games. • Abrams hits ninth home run Monday
CJ Abrams went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly against the Braves on Monday.

Advice: The Nationals scored four runs in the first inning and Abrams’ solo shot in the second inning made the score 5-0. He hit 18 home runs in 151 games last year and is halfway to that mark in only 49 games so far this season. Fantasy managers didn’t draft Abrams for his power, though. While he stole 47 bases last year, he has just eight steals so far this year.

    • Astros place Cristian Javier on IL due to forearm
Astros placed RHP Cristian Javier on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 24, due to right forearm discomfort.

Advice: The Astros don’t seem to think Javier’s problem is significant, but we’ll see. He’ll definitely miss two starts now. The Astros could bring up Eric Lauer to step in if they want to stick with a six-man rotation, but that’s not the immediate plan; they’re going with Hunter Brown, Justin Verlander and Spencer Arrighetti from Tuesday through Thursday. Tuesday would have been Javier’s day to pitch. Rotoworld Monday, 2:59 pm

    • Goes on IL for right forearm
The Astros placed Javier on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to May 24, due to right forearm discomfort.

Advice: Javier was scheduled for a bullpen session Sunday, but he was pulled after experiencing discomfort in his right forearm. He'll be sent for imaging Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. With Javier on the IL, Hunter Brown will start Tuesday against the Mariners, while Justin Verlander and Spencer Arrighetti take the mound Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. The Astros recalled right-hander Alex Speas from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:56 pm

    • George Springer homers in victory over White Sox
George Springer went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Monday, leading the Blue Jays to a 5-1 victory over the White Sox.

Advice: Springer set the tone early for Toronto with a second-inning blast off White Sox rookie Nick Nastrini. It was just his fourth round-tripper of the season and first time he’s gone deep since April 24. It’s been a down season offensively for the 34-year-old veteran as he holds a lackluster .570 OPS through 47 contests. Rotoworld Monday, 1:56 pm
    • Braves active Sean Murphy for Monday return
Braves activated C Sean Murphy from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: It’s been a long wait, but Murphy is back. The veteran catcher played just one game for the Braves this season before injuring his oblique. He’s been hitting the ball well on his rehab assignment and throwing out baserunners, which shows his readiness to step back behind the dish. With Travis d’Arnaud playing well while Murphy was out, it’s likely that the Braves use a timeshare at catcher for the next few weeks, so fantasy managers who have d’Arnaud can maybe hold on a bit longer. That’s especially true given the injury to Ronald Acuna Jr. could mean Marcell Ozuna plays some outfield and d’Arnaud or Murphy could DH on occasion. Rotoworld Monday, 8:13 am
