    • Battling food poisoning
Varsho was unavailable for Friday's game against the Pirates due to food poisoning, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Varsho's absence Friday shielded him from facing left-hander Bailey Falter, but the Blue Jays have now revealed they held the 27-year-old out due to illness rather than an unfavorable matchup. Davis Schneider moved from second base to left field Friday to cover for Varsho, and he may continue to do so if Varsho's condition doesn't improve Saturday. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:53 pm
    • Daulton Varsho sits with food poisoning on Friday
Daulton Varsho was held out of the Blue Jays’ starting lineup on Friday night due to food poisoning.

Advice: That’s the reason that the 27-year-old never made an appearance despite a 14-inning marathon contest against the Pirates. He’s considered day-to-day though his status for Saturday remains up in the air at this point. Rotoworld Friday, 8:27 pm
    • Out against lefty
Varsho is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: With Pittsburgh sending southpaw Bailey Falter to the mound, the lefty-hitting Varsho will retreat to the bench. Davis Schneider will move to left field and bat leadoff while Kevin Kiermaier and George Springer round out Toronto's outfield. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:09 pm
    • Moves to field
Langford started in left field and went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-1 win over Arizona.

Advice: This was Langford's second game back from a stint on the injured list due to a hamstring injury. He played his first game in the field after returning as the DH on Tuesday. With Evan Carter (back) on the injured list, Langford is in line for near-everyday work in left field. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:57 am

    • Ends power drought
Yelich went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Yelich's last homer was was April 10. He dealt with a back injury that kept him out of the lineup for nearly a month, and his power was the last part of his game to return. The outfielder has gone 20-for-69 (.290) over 18 contests since he returned from the injured list, though he's logged just six extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Yelich is slashing .306/.390/.546 with six homers, 22 RBI, 19 runs scored, seven stolen bases, four doubles and two triples over 29 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:44 pm
    • George Springer doubles, scores twice
George Springer went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in the Blue Jays’ 3-1 win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Springer has fallen to the lower half of the lineup with Davis Schneider taking over leadoff duties in Toronto, but still managed to score six times with five hits in three games against the White Sox. Let’s see him do this against a different, more competent team before getting excited. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:57 pm

    • Christian Yelich homers, drives in three Wednesday
Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, three RBI, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Cubs.

Advice: After going hitless in his last two games, Yelich put the Brewers on the board in the first inning with a two-run blast off Shota Imanaga. It was the first extra-base hit Imanaga has allowed to a left-handed batter. Yelich later knocked a base hit in the third and scored on a double by Gary Sánchez. The 29-year-old outfielder is hitting an outstanding .306/.390/.546 with six homers, 22 RBI, and seven steals across 124 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:20 pm
    • Wyatt Langford delivers RBI single in victory
Wyatt Langford went 2-for-4 with an RBI single on Wednesday in the Rangers’ win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Welcome back, Wyatt. After going 0-for-3 on Tuesday in his return from the injured list following a three-week absence recovering from a hamstring strain, Langford extended the Rangers’ late lead with an eighth-inning RBI single to left field to pick up his 12th RBI of the season. The 22-year-old top prospect represents an excellent buy-low target for fantasy managers in re-draft formats given his immense raw talent and everyday opportunity as part of Texas’ loaded lineup. • Plates pair in win
Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI singles in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: The surging slugger did it the small-ball way Tuesday, opening the scoring in the first inning with a timely knock that plated Josh Rojas before knocking in Ryan Bliss with an eighth-inning infield single. Rodriguez's bat has found life over the last four games, with Tuesday's tally qualifying as his third straight multi-hit effort and his pair of RBI pushing his total in that category over that span to seven.
