    • Christian Yelich crushes game-tying homer Saturday
Christian Yelich crushed a game-tying solo homer in the eighth inning on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Brewers past the Dodgers.

Advice: Yelich clobbered an Evan Phillips sweeper for a 429-foot (108.4 mph EV) game-tying solo shot in the top half of the eighth inning. It was all for nought though as the Dodgers belted a pair of homers of their own in the bottom half of the frame to regain command. The 32-year-old All-Star outfielder finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .322/.400/.512 with 10 homers, 38 RBI and 19 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago
    • Abrams belts 14th home run against Cardinals
CJ Abrams went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and three runs scored against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams started the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning and the route was on from there as the Nationals cruised to a 14-6 victory. It was his 14th home run of the season. Abrams is hitting .280 with an .856 OPS and 46 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:48 pm

    • Julio Rodríguez will undergo MRI on injured quad
Julio Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after leaving Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to discomfort in his lower right quad area.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder looked uncomfortable while tracking a fly ball in the outfield during the top half of the first inning, then he was replaced by Ty France before he had a chance to take hit first at-bat. The Mariners should have the results of his imaging before Sunday’s game, so expect another update on his status before then. Rotoworld Today, 4:38 pm

    • Dealing with quad issue
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays with discomfort in his lower right quad, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Rodriguez will undergo an MRI Saturday night.

Advice: Rodriguez was lifted from the contest in the second inning before making a plate appearance with what we now know was left quad soreness. Saturday's MRI should provide more information on the severity of the injury. The Mariners will close out its series with Toronto on Sunday before having a team off day Monday. • George Springer reaches four times in victory
George Springer scored twice and reached four times against the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Springer played the role of leadoff man well Saturday while picking up a couple of knocks and a pair of free passes. The outfielder has been swinging the bat far more effectively recently, but this good run still has him hitting just .221/.313/.354. It’s more than understandable to be skeptical of success for Springer — at least in a fantasy role — for the second half of 2024. Rotoworld Today, 4:08 pm

    • Idle Saturday
Jones isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Jones has gone just 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts over his last four games, and the Rockies will give him a chance to clear his head Saturday. Sam Hilliard will get the nod to start in left field instead while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm

    • Removed early Saturday
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Blue Jays should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:35 pm

    • Julio Rodriguez leaves game with possible injury
Julio Rodriguez was removed from Saturday’s ballgame against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on what exactly occurred, but Rodriguez was pinch-hit for by Ty France the first time that he strolled to the plate in the home half of the first inning. Expect the Mariners to provide an update on the superstar outfielder’s status as soon as more information is available. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm

    • Cole Ragans pitches well in no decision vs. COL
Cole Ragans didn’t factor into the decision despite allowing just two runs in seven innings with eight strikeouts against the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Ragans did walk three and gave up five hits, but for the most part, it was a very strong outing and a nice bounce back from his struggles against the Guardians (4 2/3 innings, five runs). The left-hander has shown that 2023 was no fluke with a 3.28 ERA and 134/37 K/BB over his 19 starts and 109 2/3 innings of work. He very well could — and should — be named an All-Star, but his last start before that game will come against the Red Sox on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:29 pm
