Jesse Winker has two hits as Nationals top Tigers
Jesse Winker singled twice, drew a pair of walks, drove in a run and scored a run as the Nationals triumphed over the Tigers on Wednesday evening at Comerica Park.
Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder delivered an RBI single in the fifth inning that extended the Nationals’ lead to 4-1. He then scored on a throwing error by Carson Kelly as Luis Garcia stole second base. He has had a resurgent season in the middle of the Nationals’ lineup, hitting .262/.380/.393 with six homers, 30 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
