    • Sitting Wednesday
Guillorme is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After he was acquired from Atlanta on May 9, Guillorme picked up starts in five of his first seven games with the Angels. He seems to have since moved into a utility role with Luis Rengifo returning from the injured list and taking on everyday duties at third base and with prospect Kyren Paris getting called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to serve as the team's main option at second base. Paris is hitting just .111 since his promotion, so it may not be long before the Angels pull the plug on the rookie and give Guillorme more playing time at the keystone. • Playing time trending down
Tucker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tucker made five consecutive starts at third base from May 5 through 9, but with the Angels having since acquired Luis Guillorme and returned Luis Rengifo from the injured list, Tucker's playing time has become more sparse. He's on the bench for the ninth time in the Angels' last 12 games, with two of his starts during that stretch coming in left field. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Lifts homer in loss
Chapman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Chapman has gone 16-for-43 (.372) with eight extra-base hits and eight RBI over his last 11 games. The third baseman's homer Tuesday gave the Giants a 5-2 lead in the seventh inning. He's up to six long balls, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles and five stolen bases while slashing .243/.303/.411 over 48 contests. While his .714 OPS is notably down from last year, he seems to have turned a corner in May by batting .279 after hitting just .212 in April. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago
    • Homers in Tuesday's loss
Estrada went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Estrada has two homers and eight RBI while batting .333 (7-for-21) over his last five games. The second baseman is up to a .250/.275/.444 slash line with eight homers, 29 RBI, 26 runs scored and one stolen base through 48 contests. He's easily on pace to surpass the 14 homers he hit in each of the last two years, though his increased power has come with the small price of less contact and slightly poorer plate discipline -- he's posted a 3.2 percent walk rate, his lowest in four years as a Giant. • Opportunities dwindling
Loperfido is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: With Jake Meyers and Jon Singleton having seemingly settled into full-time roles at center field and first base, respectively, and with left fielder Chas McCormick returning from the injured list Tuesday, Loperfido's time with the big club could soon come to an end now that his avenues to regular at-bats are starting to become more closed off. Loperfido has started just once in the Astros' last five games. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

    • Hitting bench Wednesday
McCormick is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: McCormick returned from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and started in left field in the Astros' 6-5 victory over the Angels, going 0-for-3 with a strikeout. The Astros haven't indicated that McCormick suffered a setback with his hamstring in his return to the lineup Tuesday, so his absence Wednesday is likely just for maintenance purposes. Mauricio Dubon will get the nod in left field in the series finale. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

    • Getting breather Wednesday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: He'll be getting a breather for the series finale after starting behind the dish Monday and Tuesday while going 3-for-8 with a pair of doubles, two runs and an RBI. Victor Caratini will handle the catching duties Wednesday. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

    • Headed to Triple-A this weekend
Astros manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that Abreu will play for the Astros' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Wednesday and Thursday before joining Triple-A Sugar Land this weekend, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Astros previously hadn't ruled out recalling Abreu from the minors ahead of Friday's series opener in Oakland, but they've ultimately decided to keep the veteran in the FCL for a little longer before having him compete at a higher level. Espada didn't rule out Abreu rejoining the big club before the end of the weekend, although nothing official has been decided on that front. Whether Abreu will immediately reclaim his starting first base job from Jon Singleton isn't yet clear. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago
