Patrick Sandoval spins 10-strikeout gem in loss
Patrick Sandoval recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts and surrendered two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Phillies.
Advice: Sandoval has always shown flashes of potential, but has never really put it all together for Los Angeles, and fantasy managers, over the last few years. He generated just 10 swinging strikes in this outing, but was able to consistently fill up the zone, throwing 63 of 102 pitches for strikes over five frames. A two-run single by Kyle Schwarber in the second inning accounted for all of the damage against him in this one. It was his first double-digit strikeout performance since July 9, 2022. The 27-year-old southpaw will bring an inflated 5.91 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 38/16 K/BB ratio across 32 innings (seven starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Pirates.
