The Guardians haven't indicated that Fry is dealing with a setback with the elbow, so his absence from the lineup Wednesday is likely just a pre-planned maintenance day.       Advice: Freeman's two-run shot in the third inning tied the game at 3-3, and Shohei Ohtani's RBI single one frame later provided the decisive run. The long ball was Freeman's sixth in a superb June during which he's slashed .338/.433/.650 with 15 RBI, 19 runs, two stolen bases and a 14:12 BB:K.       Gore (6-7) allowed five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one over five innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Padres.

      Advice: Gore struggled against the team that drafted him, as the Padres put up multiple runs in the first and fifth innings. He may have been rattled by the two teams clearing the benches in the first inning after Keibert Ruiz and Jurickson Profar exchanged words -- Gore's next pitch hit Profar on the back foot, and the one after that was crushed by Manny Machado for a two-run homer. The southpaw has lost three of his five starts in June, giving up 18 runs (17 earned) over 26.1 innings.     • MacKenzie Gore gives up five runs, loses to Padres
      MacKenzie Gore surrendered five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Gore was lucky not to be tossed at the beginning of this one, as he hit Jurickson Profar in the back leg with a pitch right after warnings were issued because of some thoroughly unnecessary jawing and a benches-clearing incident. Gore’s pitch, though, didn’t seem to be intentional. It did lead to an ejection anyway, as Padres manager Mike Shildt was ejected for taking issue with Gore not being tossed.
