    • Slugs eighth homer
Perez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Friday's 7-1 victory over the Rangers.

Advice: Perez's three-run shot off Jose Urena capped off a six-run seventh inning for the Royals and extended the backstop's hitting streak to four games. He has yet to show any signs of slowing down at the plate, slashing .351/.413/.605 with eight homers and 30 RBI across his first 126 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 am
    • Salvador Perez hits three-run homer in victory
Salvador Perez hit a three-run homer in the Royals’ 7-1 victory over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Perez broke the game open with his three-run homer, as it came with the Royals leading 4-1 in an inning where Kansas City put up a six-spot. The 33-year-old catcher has already gone deep eight times in 2024, and the three runs driven in bump that total to 30. The suggestion that Perez was done being a strong fantasy option behind the plate may have been greatly exaggerated. Rotoworld Friday, 7:11 pm
    • Collects five hits in twin bill
Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's doubleheader split versus the Tigers.

Advice: Goldschmidt had not collected five hits over any two-game span this season prior to Tuesday. Even with the strong performance, the first baseman is slashing a mediocre .236/.323/.318 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored, three doubles and a stolen base over 29 contests. Goldschmidt has yet to lose playing time amid his slow start, but that could change once the Cardinals get players like Dylan Carlson (shoulder), Tommy Edman (wrist) and Matt Carpenter (oblique) back from the injured list. On the positive side, Goldschmidt has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, so he may be turning things around enough to maintain his place in the lineup. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:39 pm
    • Salvador Perez returns to lineup Tuesday
Salvador Perez (back) returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Perez is back handling the catching duties on Tuesday night in Toronto after being scratched from Monday’s series opener due to back tightness. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:46 pm
    • Back in action Tuesday
Perez (back) is starting at first base and batting cleanup Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Perez was scratched from Monday's starting nine due to back tightness, but he made an appearance off the bench and is back in the lineup a day later. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to 2024 with seven homers, 26 RBI and a .346/.404/.596 slash line through 29 games. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:36 pm
    • Scratched with back tightness
Perez was scratched from Monday's lineup versus the Blue Jays due to back tightness, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Perez had been slated to catch and bat cleanup, but now Freddy Fermin will be behind the plate and Nelson Velazquez will move up to the cleanup spot. Consider Perez day-to-day. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:32 pm
    • Royals scratch Salvador Perez with back tightness
Salvador Perez was scratched from Monday’s lineup due to back tightness.

Advice: Perez has been off to an excellent start while leading baseball with 26 RBI and posting an OPS of .990, but he’ll miss at least one game while dealing with the back issue. He should be considered day-to-day at this point, but testing on the 33-year-old is likely. Rotoworld Monday, 2:28 pm
    • Plates two, steals base
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with two RBI while netting his first stolen base of the season in Saturday's 7-4 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt one-hopped a two-run double off the wall as part of a four-run first inning for the Cardinals. He added an infield single, a stolen base and another run scored. The former MVP also struck out three times Saturday and has fanned at an elevated 30.1 percent so far this season. The production on the whole has ticked up over the past week, however, with Goldschmidt going 9-for-27 (.333) with one home run and four RBI in that span. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:04 pm
    • Paul Goldschmidt drives in two in win over Mets
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, two RBI, and a stolen base to lead the Cardinals to a 7-4 win over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt seems to be warming up at the plate. He collected two hits on Saturday for his third multi-hit game in his last five contests. Goldschmidt drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and scored on a base hit by Masyn Winn. He singled in the fifth and swiped second for his first stolen base of the season before scoring on a balk. The 36-year-old first baseman is slashing .214/.306/.296 with two homers and 11 RBI across 113 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:37 pm
