      Castillo (3-5) yielded three runs on three hits over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Twins.

      Advice: Castillo fired four shutout frames before the Twins broke the scoreless tie in the fifth inning. He later was charged with two more runs in the seventh. Entering Monday's start, Castillo had turned in four straight outings with two or fewer earned runs allowed. He's factored into the decision in each of his eight starts and snapped his three-game winning streak Monday. Despite the up-and-down start to his season, Castillo has registered a solid 3.54 ERA with a 56:11 K:BB through 48.1 innings.       Luis Castillo gave up three runs — two earned — over 6 2/3 innings in a loss Monday to the Twins.

      Advice: Castillo allowed just an unearned run over the first six, but two more crossed the plate in the seventh. The right-hander struck out seven against three walks, and it was another solid outing for the 31-year-old right-hander.       Greene went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Greene got Detroit on the board early, belting a leadoff home run against Triston McKenzie in the top of the first inning. However, he and his teammates went quiet from there. Fantasy managers won't mind too much, as the young outfielder now has four home runs over his last seven games, which has pushed him up to nine long balls for the season.       Riley Greene went 1-for-5 with a home run on the first pitch of the game against the Guardians on Monday.

      Advice: Greene didn’t wait long to get the Tigers on the board, unfortunately for Detroit, it was the only run of the game. The 23-year-old’s solo shot went 424 feet to deep right center field and he now has nine home runs on the season. The only other players with more home runs in baseball this season?     • Nick Castellanos finally collects first double
      Nick Castellanos doubled, singled and walked twice versus the Giants on Monday.

      Advice: Each time it looks like Castellanos might be turning the corner, he’s gone right back to slumping the next day. Still, this rates as his best game so far this season. The double was hit 389 feet and would have been a homer in nine ballparks. Incredibly, it was the first two-bagger of the year for a guy who once had 58 of them. He finished with 37 last season.     • Drops appeal, serving five-game ban
      Peralta dropped his appeal of a five-game suspension and will be begin serving the ban Monday.

      Advice: Peralta was handed the suspension for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in an 8-2 win over Tampa Bay last Tuesday. The right-hander was ejected from that contest, but after appealing the five-game ban, Peralta took the hill Sunday on normal rest and was dealt the loss in the Brewers' series finale with the Cubs. With Peralta ending his appeal, he won't be able to make his next turn through the rotation that would have fallen Friday versus the Cardinals, though he could make his next start as soon as Saturday.       Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Monday that Skenes is scheduled to make another start with Triple-A Indianapolis this week, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Skenes' last start with Indianapolis was his first this season on regular rest, and he wasn't as dominant as he had been, yielding two runs on three hits and a 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 innings. He threw 66 pitches in the outing. The top prospect's major-league debut should be coming sooner rather than later, but the Pirates have opted to give him at least one more start in the minors.       Advice: Fans and fantasy managers will have to wait yet another week, at least, before seeing Skenes make his MLB debut. The 21-year-old has made seven starts at Triple-A in 2024, posting a 0.99 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 45/8 K/BB ratio in 27 1/3 innings.     • Facing four-week absence
      The Guardians expect Kwan to miss approximately four weeks after placing him on the 10-day injured list earlier Monday with an acute left hamstring strain, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Kwan was diagnosed with the acute hamstring strain after undergoing an MRI following his early exit from Saturday's 7-1 win over the Angels. With imaging determining that he sustained more than a mild injury, Kwan will be sidelined well beyond the minimum 10 days, and a more precise return date likely won't come into focus until he reaches the point in his rehab where he's performing baseball activities. The Guardians are likely to turn to Estevan Florial, Ramon Laureano and Gabriel Arias to fill in for Kwan in the corner outfield, while prospect Kyle Manzardo was promoted from Triple-A Columbus on Monday and should take on an everyday role at designated hitter for at least the next few weeks.
