    • Westburg hits 10th home run in win Friday
      Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Rays on Friday.

      Advice: Westburg’s home run was his 10th of the season. He hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Orioles a 6-3 lead.     • Nico Hoerner out of lineup due to hand injury
      Cubs manager Craig Counsell now says X-rays last night on Nico Hoerner’s hand came back “somewhat inconclusive,” and the second baseman is not playing in Friday’s game.

      Advice: It was originally reported that the X-rays came back negative after Hoerner was hit on the right hand by a pitch. Hoerner, though, had some trouble gripping the bat and swinging today.     • Sitting out after HBP
      Hoerner is not in Friday's lineup in Cincinnati after being hit on the hand by a pitch in Thursday's win over the White Sox, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

      Advice: Hoerner was struck by a pitch in the fourth inning Thursday but stayed in and finished that game. He underwent a precautionary X-ray afterward, which evidently came back clean.     • X-rays negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after HBP
      X-rays came back negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after being hit by a pitch during Thursday’s game against the Reds.

      Advice: Hoerner remained in the contest and appears to have avoided serious injury after being plunked on the hand by a 96.5 mph fastball from Reds starter Hunter Greene during the early stages of the game.     • Isiah Kiner-Falefa wins game for Blue Jays
      Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with two RBI, including the game-winner, as the Blue Jays edged the Orioles 3-2 on Wednesday.

      Advice: The game-winner was a fly to deep right that would have normally been caught but dropped because the fielder was playing shallow in the hopes of cutting down the runner from third base. The other RBI came on an infield single in the second. That’s just what Kiner-Falefa does, though, and his contributions have been a little more valuable this year with power numbers down across the league.       Westburg went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Westburg has hit safely in his last eight games, going 12-for-31 (.387) in that span. The steal was his first since May 11 and his sixth on nine attempts this season. It's unlikely Westburg will be negatively impacted by the Orioles' promotion of Connor Norby to replace Jorge Mateo (concussion) on the 26-man roster -- Westburg should continue to see near-everyday playing time between third base and second base. The 25-year-old is slashing .292/.348/.510 with nine home runs, 36 RBI and 30 runs scored over 222 plate appearances as he enjoys a breakout in his second major-league campaign.     • Nico Hoerner has two hits in loss to Reds
      Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Hoerner has been slowly increasing his batting average in recent weeks and is up to .262/.351/.366 on the season; however, he didn’t attempt a stolen base today and has just six on the season. After stealing 43 bases last year, it’s discouraging to see Hoerner not running as often. It could partially be a hamstring issue he’s been dealing with or a new philosophy under manager Craig Counsell, but since Hoerner doesn’t have much power, his fantasy value will take a big hit if he’s only a 25-stolen-base hitter who will hit .270-.280. If you need the steals, you should still keep Hoerner in your lineup, but if you’re OK on speed and somebody makes a compelling offer, he could be a player you’re OK parting with.     • Davis Schneider with two more hits
      Davis Schneider went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI on Sunday against the Pirates.

      Advice: Schneider came around to score on Daniel Vogelbach’s go-ahead, two-run double and seems to be in the middle of most Blue Jays rallies at this point. Their lineup has found more life since anointing him their permanent lead-off hitter and it would be shocking to see him out of that role any time soon. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:12 pm

      Westburg went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

      Advice: Westburg was out of the lineup for two games with a hand injury, but it didn't seem to be bothering him in Saturday's win. He's gone 10-for-22 (.455) with two homers and seven RBI over his last six games, posting three multi-hit efforts in that span. The infielder continues to hit well despite often being in the bottom half of the order. He's slashing .295/.354/.523 with nine homers, 36 RBI, 30 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 doubles and three triples over 52 games this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:16 am
