    • Idle versus lefty
Busch isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: With lefty Bailey Falter set to start on the mound for the Bucs, the left-handed bat of Busch will remain in Chicago's dugout. His absence will give Patrick Wisdom an opportunity to start at first while batting leadoff. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:00 am

    • Three hits in win
Perez went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Perez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and got on base three more times in Friday's victory. The veteran catcher is batting .294 (15-for-51) with seven extra-base hits and eight RBI in May. That's actually down from his overall numbers -- Perez is slashing a stellar .335/.403/.557 with eight home runs, 34 RBI, 18 runs scored and 11 doubles over 176 plate appearances. He last hit above .300 for a full season in the abbreviated 2020 campaign, so there is a high risk that he cools off eventually in 2024, but he's been excellent over the first quarter of the season. • Buoyed by progress
Casas (rib) was upbeat Tuesday when discussing the progress he's made while on rehab, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: At the time of his injury, Casas was unsure how his body would respond, but he was enthused when discussing his recovery. "Everything is going well. I'm making a lot of progress," Casas said. "Starting a running progression here in the next couple of days. Should get to start throwing in two or three more days. I've already started lifting. Swinging is probably the last step, because that's a lot of rotation." Casas is currently on the 60-day injured list and isn't eligible to return until June 21. While he's been out, the Red Sox have filled first base with a rotation of players that includes Garrett Cooper, Dominic Smith and Romy Gonzalez. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:43 am

    • Mashes fifth homer
Olson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: After hitting the ball hard most of the early part of the season with little to show for it, Olson got rewarded for his efforts Tuesday, driving in his first run with a first-inning double that had an exit velocity of 105.2 mph before he belted a three-run bomb off Jameson Taillon in the fourth that left his bat at 108.2 mph. Over the last eight games, Olson is batting .310 (9-for-29) with two of his five homers on the season as he gets back into his 2023 form. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:22 am
    • Matt Olson has two hits, HR in win over Cubs
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in a win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Olson took a fourth-inning pitch from Jameson Taillon and clobbered it 432 feet at 108.2 mph off the bat. He also had a 105.2 mph double in his first at-bat of the game. It hasn’t been the best start to the season for the slugger, but he’s still barreling the ball an impressive amount pulling the ball more than ever, and swinging and missing only a little bit more than normal. His zone contact is the highest it’s been since 2021, so both the power and batting average should be coming shortly. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:46 pm
    • Sitting against left-hander
Busch is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Southpaw Chris Sale is getting the start for Atlanta, so the left-handed hitting Busch will be given a day off. Cody Bellinger will get the start at first base, while Pete Crow-Armstrong will patrol center field. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:54 pm

    • Taking seat Tuesday
Burger is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Detroit.

Advice: Burger has had trouble finding his rhythm since returning from the injured list, going just 2-for-29 at the plate. He'll get a day off to reset. Tristan Gray will handle third base in Burger's stead. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:27 pm
