    • Kerry Carpenter homers twice as Tigers rout Astros
Kerry Carpenter blasted a pair of home runs on Saturday as the Tigers routed the Astros 8-2 at Comerica Park.

Advice: Carpenter put the exclamation point on a seven-run second inning with a 350-foot (106.5 mph EV) two-run blast that chased Astros’ starter Cristian Javier. He also added a 384-foot (102.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Hunter Brown in the fourth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 8-2. It’s the third multi-homer game of Carpenter’s young career. The 26-year-old slugger finished the evening 2-for-5 is now hitting .275/.333/.523 with five homers and 18 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Mark Canha crushes grand slam in win over Astros
Mark Canha crushed a grand slam in the second inning on Saturday night as the Tigers pummeled the Astros at Comerica Park.

Advice: Riley Greene drew a bases-loaded walk in the second inning to push the first run across, then Canha broke the game wide open with his 393-foot (102.9 mph EV) four-run blast off of Astros’ right-hander Cristian Javier. He also drew a pair of walks in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. On the season, the 35-year-old outfielder is now hitting .242/.365/.452 with six long balls, 20 RBI and one stolen base. • Wenceel Perez swipes base in win over Astros
Wenceel Perez doubled, walked, stole a base and scored a run as the Tigers triumphed over the Astros on Saturday evening in Motown.

Advice: Perez drew a walk off of Cristian Javier in the opening inning and swiped second base, but the Tigers couldn’t cash him in from there. He then smacked a double off of Javier in the second and rode home on the first of Kerry Carpenter’s home runs on the night. The 24-year-old outfielder finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .282/.363/.493 with three homers, eight RBI and three stolen bases in his first 23 games of big league action. • Cristian Javier demolished in return from IL
Cristian Javier was absolutely demolished in his return from the injured list on Saturday, giving up seven runs on five hits and four walks in just 1 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: Yikes. None of the four outs that Javier did record came via the strikeout. He pitched around a couple of baserunners in the opening inning, but the second inning wasn’t as forgiving. There, Mark Canha belted a grand slam and Kerry Carpenter added a two-run shot that chased Javier from the ballgame. He threw 50 pitches (21 for strikes), getting just two swings and misses while posting a CSW of only 16 percent. Perhaps fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach before putting him back into lineups. Javier will do battle against the Athletics his next time out at home on Thursday. • Picks up second win
Littell (2-2) got the victory Saturday versus the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He notched three strikeouts.

Advice: Littell came into this outing with zero walks over his last four starts and at least six strikeouts in all of those outings. While he went the other direction in both areas during Saturday's start, it was an effective outing nonetheless. Littell is sitting on a 3.02 ERA, but this was his first win since March 30. His next outing projects to come in Boston. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Michael Conforto exits with apparent leg injury
Michael Conforto was pulled from Saturday’s game against the Reds due to an apparent leg injury.

Advice: Conforto rounded first base after singling off of Nick Lodolo in the fourth inning, but came up grabbing at his right leg, perhaps a hamstring. Mike Yastrzemski then came on to run for him. He’ll head for further evaluation to determine exactly what’s going on there. Expect the Giants to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago
    • Clubs first homer in loss
Brujan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Brujan got the scoring started in this one with a leadoff blast off Taijuan Walker in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was his first home run as a Marlin and just his fourth in 130 major-league games. Brujan also singled and was caught stealing and added an additional run after reaching on a fielder's choice. The 26-year-old has become an everyday player for the Marlins over the last two weeks, starting 13 of the last 15 contests. His production has slowed in May, but Brujan has shown enough since getting regular reps to make him a viable deep-league option. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

    • Moves to 3-0
Walker (3-0) earned the win Saturday against the Marlins, yielding just one run on eight hits and one walk over six frames. He struck out four.

Advice: Walker went at least six innings for the third time in three starts since he returned from the injured list and he's picked up a victory in all three of those outings. The backing of the Phillies' offense has helped, of course, as Walker is sporting a 4.82 ERA. He's trending in the right direction, though, with back-to-back quality starts. He'll attempt to move his record to 4-0 next week against either the Mets or Nationals at home. Rotowire.com Today, 4:54 pm
    • Fans nine in no-decision
Criswell did not factor into the decision Saturday versus the Nationals, permitting two runs on three hits and a walk over five frames. He struck out nine.

Advice: Criswell was dinged by a couple solo home runs; one in the second inning by Joey Meneses and another in the fourth hit by Eddie Rosario. He yielded only one other hit and no runs otherwise, though, and his nine punchouts were a career high. Criswell was pulled after five with his pitch count at just 79, as the Red Sox are continuing to keep a close eye on his workload as he transitions from the bullpen (he hasn't thrown more than 83 pitches in a start and has yet to record an out beyond the fifth inning). He's been awfully effective when on the bump, though, with his ERA actually going up to 2.10 after Saturday's outing. Criswell is slated to face his former club, the Rays, his next time out.
