    • Red Sox recall Zack Kelly from Triple-A
Red Sox recalled RHP Zack Kelly from Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Kelly has a 2.16 ERA in 16 2/3 innings out of the Boston pen this season, and he’ll probably get a chance to work in close games while Chris Martin in out. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Efficient in first win
Peterson (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings in a 6-3 victory over the Nationals. He struck out two.

Advice: The southpaw wasn't dominant, but he threw an efficient 81 pitches (52 strikes) as he recorded his first big-league win since July 27 of last year, which coincidentally was also against Washington. Peterson has made a good case so far for sticking in the Mets' rotation, allowing four earned runs in 11.2 innings over his first two starts. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Marlins. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
    • Logs quality start in debut
Mazur did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and four walks while striking out two over six innings.

Advice: Mazur didn't have his best command Tuesday but was able to limit the damage against him by inducing plenty of weak contact. He allowed four hard hit balls on the night, and both hits against him went for singles with one of those being an RBI knock by Luis Rengifo in the third. Aside from the walks, it was an impressive showing from the 23-year-old who only needed 77 pitches to get through six frames. Mazur will get to stick in the rotation for the time being while the Padres deal with some injuries and lines up to take the mound over the weekend against the Diamondbacks. • Summoned to majors
The Red Sox recalled Kelly from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Advice: He'll join the 26-man active roster and the bullpen as a replacement for right-hander Chris Martin, who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to anxiety. Kelly has previously made 11 appearances for the big club this season, accruing a 2.16 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Goes on 15-day IL
The Red Sox placed Martin on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with anxiety.

Advice: Martin will be eligible for activation June 17, but it's uncertain as to whether he will be ready to return at that time. The setup man has collected a 4.22 ERA and 24:2 K:BB over 21.1 innings this season. Zack Kelly was called up from Triple-A Worcester to take Martin's spot in the Red Sox's bullpen. • Cleared for rehab assignment
Matz (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Recovering from a protruding disc in his lower back, Matz was cleared for a rehab start after completing two high-intensity bullpen sessions. He is slated for 40-to-45 pitches Thursday, so he will need at least one additional rehab start before rejoining the Cardinals' rotation. A mid-June return is on the table if Matz doesn't have any hiccups. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

    • Allows two runs Tuesday
Walston did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's win over the Giants, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings.

Advice: Walston didn't have his best stuff, evidenced by his four walks, but was able to keep the Giants at bay after the Diamondbacks got out to a 3-0 lead. Walston had a full count on six of the first nine hitters he faced and needed 50 pitches to get through two scoreless frames. The Giants got a run across in the fourth and another in the fifth after Kevin Ginkel was unable to strand one of the two runners he inherited. Walston now owns a 2.84 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB over 12.2 innings. The 23-year-old figures to get at least another look in the rotation while Zac Gallen (hamstring) makes his way back from injury. Walston lines up to face the Padres on the road this weekend. • Recent struggles continue
Ober (5-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits, including a home run, and four walks over five innings against the Yankees. He struck out two.

Advice: Ober wasn't sharp as he needed to be at the top of his game against a Yankees lineup that is on a roll. However, it has continued his recent struggles as he has a 7.58 ERA with just a 15:8 K:BB ratio in his last 19 innings. He hasn't thrown more than five innings in any of his last four starts. • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Blue Jays outrighted Kuhnel to Triple-A Buffalo after he cleared waivers Tuesday.

Advice: While no longer on Toronto's 40-man roster, it appears Kuhnel will remain in the organization. The right-handed reliever has spent most of this season at the Triple-A level, posting a 2.25 ERA and 7:5 K:BB over 20 frames. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago
